💥 Czech Greens/EFA MEP Markéta Gregorová claims to have been detained in Beijing for 1.5 hours in what she called “pseudo-scare tactics” over the arrest of a Chinese national accused of spying in the Czech Republic.
Gregorová said she was the only delegate out of 15 EU officials who faced such problems at border control upon landing in Beijing Capital Airport on Oct 26.
A vocal critic of the CCP, Gregorová said she faced extensive questioning from Chinese officials despite presenting her diplomatic passport and an official invitation letter.
Gregorová is the vice-chair of the European Parliament’s China group, and was travelling to the Chinese capital as part of a delegation from the parliament focusing on trade talks between Brussels and Beijing.
The visit follows recent talks between EU trade commissioner Maroš Šefčovič and Chinese officials.
Gregorová claims she was banned from using her phone during the ordeal and had her passport confiscated.

🚨 “I feel like I’m still in Iraq” — this is how bad the situation is in the UK.
Asylum seekers who fled religious persecution in Islamic countries for freedom in Britain are now considering claiming asylum elsewhere, because they continue to be persecuted here for criticising Islam.
Dheyaa — a former Muslim who converted to Christianity — fled religious persecution in Iraq and came to Britain.
Exercising what he thought was his new-found freedom, he burned a copy of the Koran in symbolic protest against the ideology that had persecuted him.
Rather than protecting his right to free speech and protest, West Yorkshire Police swiftly arrested him on suspicion of inciting religious hatred.
He was then handed Orwellian bail conditions banning him from discussing religion on social media.
The Free Speech Union stepped in, defending Dheyaa’s right to free speech and helping him secure the removal of those bail conditions.
Earlier this year, before the Government unveiled its Islamophobia definition, FSU Case Director @BenBarryJones asked Dheyaa what he made of the prospect.
Dheyaa said he felt as though he was still in Iraq, and that he would look to flee the UK.
Hamit Coskun, another asylum seeker who burned a copy of the Koran in protest against the persecution he faced in Turkey, also considered fleeing to the US after he was convicted of a public order offence.
Shockingly, the CPS had originally charged him for harassing “the religious institution of Islam”, long before the Government had any state-approved definition of “Islamophobia”.
With the FSU’s backing, Hamit’s conviction was overturned on appeal. The CPS then tried to reinstate it at the High Court, and lost again.
The last thing Britain needs is a state-approved Islamic blasphemy code. One is already operating.

The Democrats are gonna win tomorrow, but they're so divided and headless. You've got:
* Leftists who still think Palestine is everything
* Angry old ladies who hate Trump but otherwise have no idea what they want
* Intellectuals who are still just really really mad that Mark Zuckerberg is rich
* Center-left Climate Libs who have basically just given up and think China owns the future
* Weird splinter factions of woke Bluesky cancel culture people running around calling everyone anti-trans
* Abundance?

There has been a "no war, no deal" dynamic in U.S.-Iran relations for much of the last four decades. It's the norm. What's different since 2026, however, is the unprecedented naval blockade and the marrying of the economic and military pressure. The reality is there is no happy ending with a neat diplomatic solution to this conflict. It will only end once the Iranian regime ends. And hastening that end is in the U.S. national security interest.
🚨CIA Director John Ratcliffe is advising Trump to maintain the "no war, no deal" status quo and allow the economic pressure campaign to continue, sources said
🚨Ratcliffe told Trump that prolonged economic pain will induce Iran to make more concessions — or create enough instability inside the country that citizens revolt

Whether or not it continues, the sell-off raises important questions for rules like the EU DMA & UK DMCC: what if the “gatekeepers” aren’t actually entrenched?

I see basically universal denunciation of Haley Stevens from Democrats and liberal pundits—traitor, burn the witch, etc.—and honestly it's a bit much.
More politicians should feel comfortable saying "X person on my side is a bridge too far." Dems usually cheer this when GOP does this, it's Profiles in Courage or whatnot for the Liz Cheneys for the world.

If Zelensky Is So Corrupt, Why Can’t Anyone Buy Him? 🇺🇦
I just realized something almost hilarious if it wasn’t very obvious and also real about the whole anti-Zelensky narrative.
For years we have been told that Zelensky is corrupt, illegitimate, a puppet, a billionaire thief, some CIA creation, whatever version happens to be useful that day. And yet somehow Putin, Trump, oligarchs, billionaires and the entire anti-Ukraine political machine still cannot control him.
Think about that contradiction.
Zelensky was elected in 2019 with about 73% of the runoff vote. Ukraine has not held another presidential election because elections are suspended under martial law during Russia’s invasion, something Zelensky has said could change if conditions allow a safe and legal vote. Meanwhile Trump, Elon and others are now openly calling for Ukraine to replace him after Zelensky refused demands to stop attacking Russian energy infrastructure and bend over to them.
And this is where their own propaganda stops making sense. If Zelensky were really as spectacularly corrupt as they claim, why wouldn’t somebody have bought him years ago?
Putin has all the money. Russian oligarchs have money. Western billionaires have money. Elon has more money than all of them. Trump has political power. There are people with enormous financial and geopolitical interests who would benefit from a Ukrainian president willing to make the right deal for them.
If Zelensky were really nothing but a corrupt opportunist, the easiest path imaginable would have been to take the money, make peace with Putin on Putin’s terms, protect himself, become insanely wealthy, powerful and live comfortably ruling the Ukraine and the area as a probably richest dictator on earth.
Instead, Russia invaded, Zelensky stayed, Ukraine kept fighting, and years later these people are still trying to pressure him, discredit him, replace him and convince everyone that he is somehow the problem.
Trump and Elon has now publicly called for Ukraine to get a new president after Zelensky resisted pressure over Ukrainian strikes on Russian refineries. Their relationship has deteriorated sharply precisely because Zelensky has continued pursuing policies Washington told him to stop.
So maybe the reason so many powerful men seem absolutely fucking obsessed with Zelensky is much simpler than all the conspiracy theories.
Maybe they hate him because they cannot break him.
Maybe they hate him because they cannot buy him.
Maybe they are simply jealous of him and his amazing courage and integrity.?
And maybe nothing drives men obsessed with power more insane than another man they cannot control.
