🎉 TWO YEARS AS YOUR COUNCILLOR! 🎉
Two years ago this week, I was given the privilege of a lifetime, the opportunity to represent the residents of Bramhall, Cheadle Hulme and Woodford.
And two years on, I can genuinely say that I absolutely love this job.
Representing the community I call home is an enormous honour. Whether it’s helping residents with everyday problems, standing up for our area in the Council Chamber, challenging decisions or fighting for improvements to our local services, every single day brings something different.
There have been successes, frustrations and plenty of challenges along the way. But one thing hasn’t changed, my determination to be a visible, accessible and hardworking councillor who puts our community first.
But enough about me. Now I want to hear from YOU! 👇
As I mark two years representing our community, I’d really value your honest feedback.
🔵 How am I doing? What’s working, and where could I do better?
🔵 What matters most to you? Roads, planning, transport, flooding, policing, local services or something else entirely?
🔵 What should my priorities be for the next six months? What would you like me to focus my time and energy on?
I’m looking for honest, constructive feedback that will help me do a better job for you.
💬 Please fill in my survey, I want to hear from as many residents as possible.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me, challenged me, contacted me or simply stopped for a chat over the past two years.
It’s the privilege of a lifetime to serve this community, and I’m just as enthusiastic today as I was on day one.
Here’s to continuing to work hard for Bramhall, Cheadle Hulme and Woodford! 💙

From @pbcrossen: Labour are leaving community infrastructure to wither conservativehome.com/2026/11…
My wife, like millions of SME owners, works her fingers to the bone every single day.
She worries not just about paying our mortgage, but about the mortgages, bills and livelihoods of everyone she employs.
To suggest employers aren’t “working people” is insulting.
Labour should be ashamed.

🚨 BREAKING: Following the missed penalty at Villa Park this evening, Aston Villa have announced their intention to commence legal proceedings against the crossbar.
The club alleges that its actions were deliberate, malicious and caused significant reputational damage.
The crossbar has declined to comment, but is understood to be standing firm. 😂
Those celebrating Healey’s tax raid on bank profits, please look at the bigger picture. Love them or loathe them, banks drive growth, jobs and lending.
Higher taxes risk redundancies, fewer taxpayers and pricier mortgages, loans and credit cards.
Remember that when your bills rise.
⚠️ £100 ENERGY SUPPORT – PLEASE BEWARE OF SCAMMERS! ⚠️
💷 Today’s announcement awards £100 towards household energy costs, however, announcements like this inevitably create opportunities for scammers to exploit residents.
✅ The payment will be available to eligible households in Council Tax bands A–D, with payments starting from January 2027.
🏦 If you pay your Council Tax by Direct Debit, the payment will be automatic. You do NOT need to apply.
📩 If you don’t pay by Direct Debit, Stockport Council and only Stockport Council will contact you directly with details of how to claim.
🚨 PLEASE BE VIGILANT!
If you receive an unexpected call, text or email asking you to claim your £100 or provide bank details, don’t click any links or share personal information. Check directly with Stockport Council using its official contact details.
Please share this warning, particularly with elderly or vulnerable friends, family and neighbours. Let’s make sure this welcome support reaches residents, not scammers.

I don’t think “ I decided to not go into work today as I would have punched someone” is quite the flex you think it is Nigel.
In fact it’s actually quite disturbing
You can’t even get a picture of the correct Andy, how can we trust any of your supposed poll stats? 🤦♂️
This quoted post is unavailable.
No disrespect to you Martin but you should not be getting an early brief of the budget.
No one should be invited to a private briefing before members of Parliament are addressed in the house!!
I hope the leader of the house is looking at this as a matter of urgency

🤔 The removal of standing charges on gas bills…sounds good doesn’t it?
💁♂️ On the face of it, yes, in general bills might be lower - but here’s the catch…
🤨 If you are a ‘higher consumer’ (meaning someone that uses gas for heating, cooking, hot water etc) then your energy bill is about to go UP. That’s cause they are putting the fixed daily cost on to the Unit Rate.
🥶Next week in large parts of the UK, the temperature is going to get close to freezing. Because of these changes, if you live there and heat your home with gas and want to turn on the central heating…Labour just made your life much more difficult and far more expensive.
Poor polling?
💙 Conservatives: Roll up our sleeves, get back on doorsteps, listen to voters and work to rebuild trust.
🤬 Reform: Reach for the Trump playbook. “Fake polls!” Blame everyone else.
I’d rather focus on earning back people’s confidence than making excuses. 🤷♂️

Fake polls. All part of a piece. They always do this when it looks like an election is coming. Tories realistically on 19.
Rough sleeping in Greater Manchester is UP 4.2% since Andy Burnham took office in 2016.
Yet @MayorofGM Bev Craig is proudly telling the rest of the country to follow Greater Manchester’s blueprint.
I think we’ll need to see the other blueprints, thanks! 🤦♂️
You really couldn’t make this stuff up! 🤦♂️

🏅 Although not a winner on this occasion, I’m both humbled and delighted to have been nominated for Conservative Councillor of the Year!
It’s lovely to receive this recognition, and I’m incredibly grateful to those who took the time to put my name forward.
It is an absolute privilege to be your elected representative, serving residents across Bramhall, Cheadle Hulme and Woodford.
Being a councillor has always been about making a difference in our local community, standing up for residents and getting things done.
Thank you for allowing me to do a job I genuinely love. 💙
So, the government thinks producing more of our own North Sea oil is bad for the climate, so we import it instead.
But now imported oil is too dirty as well, so we need to slap a “green tax” on that too!
No matter what the British people are the ones picking up the bill?
Make it make sense! 🤦♂️
🚨 NEW: John Healey is reportedly considering imposing a "green tax" on imported fuel like petrol and diesel in the Budget
[@Telegraph]
Sorry, are you really suggesting taxing future profits cant push up prices because it doesn’t change today’s production costs?
Are you forgetting businesses need to use profits for investment, or that investors need returns, and future supply magically appears.
Do you think British consumers won’t pick up that bill?l
What being suggested here is economics by fairy tale.
Nope, that’s not how taxes and price works. The price is determined by demand and supply.
Companies charge the highest price they can given demand. A tax levied on *profits* does not affect a company’s cost ie supply.
Taxes on *windfall* profits (like oil and gas) are the most efficient kind of tax there is.
