Our preprint has now been published @CurrentBiology with a few new elements, thanks to 3 great reviewers! Check it out! In brief: The hippocampus is required for cortical (V1) plasticity elicited by visual sequences but not individual grating stimuli. authors.elsevier.com/a/1dTYi…
Excited to finally share some of my postdoc work in which we investigated the role of hippocampus in visually-induced long-term V1 plasticity. Featuring Mark Bear and appearances by @robkomo81. 1/5

Amazing day for my first tweet. Super excited to share my PhD research, published today @Nature. We find that contrary to popular belief, cortical reactivations predict the future rather than reflect the past. nature.com/articles/s41586-0… 1/10

No nucleus? No problem! No DNA? Who cares! Histones? No need! Read our @biorxivpreprint on #Transgenerational Epigenetic Inheritance in animals that transmit to their progeny their cytoplasm but not their nuclei- Small RNAs are doin’ it for themselves!🧵 biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…

Excited to share that our work is now published in @ScienceAdvances. science.org/doi/10.1126/scia… We found that Non-ionotropic NMDA receptor signaling offers a potential treatment for chronic pain by destabilizing spinal ‘pain memories’ and reversing mechanical hypersensitivity. 1/2

How are memories transformed over time to enable anticipation of the future? With consolidation, multistep anticipation becomes more efficient but less perceptually detailed. Proud of @hannahtstoll for leading this collaboration w/ @ChrisBaldassano! psyarxiv.com/x2f7s

excited to share @stephaniedwill new paper! We found we could induce CSF flow in the awake human brain, by presenting intense visual stimuli. This shows that neuronal activity can drive fluid flow, and suggests neurovascular coupling contributes! journals.plos.org/plosbiolog…

New paper day! @latimerkw & FreedmanLab shows how long-term training history impacts parietal neuronal representations. The project compares encoding in two pairs of animals during categorical decisions, but the animals differed in their training history. bit.ly/3XSWtEE
