Just 45,315 new homes received planning permission in England in Q2 2026, the lowest quarterly total since 2012. Our Housing Pipeline report, based on Glenigan data, shows that in the year to Q2 2026, permissions were granted for 214,515 homes, the lowest annual total since 2013, down 8% on the previous year and 36% below the 2017 peak.

Tonight Harlow delivered the most historic local election result in UK history.
The Conservatives were defending 6 out of the 11 seats up for election. Reform said they would win all 11.
The Conservatives won all 11 - with record turnout and majorities.
Phenomenal.
First result in #HuttonSouth in #Brentwood was a Reform gain based on 2022 but a hold of an October by-election win.
Second bracket is the change in 6mths.
