I loved that scene - but not that surprised he could even excel at comedy.
RIP Patrick Stewart.

I remember him from I Claudius - an essential watch.
I also remember watching him as Gurney in Dune which is why I was already comfortable with him from the very first episode of STNG in the 90s, a role he would dominate and redefine.
RIP Patrick Stewart.

A bit of horse racing is one thing, but the predatory advertising for online gambling is quite another.
I prefer the original principle of "Unstimulated Demand" and I blame Blair for the 2005 act which was just about filling the government's coffers.

Gambling is presented as harmless mainstream entertainment, with the predatory illusion of "control" that can allow people to "beat the house".
And the regulatory restrictions applying to it are nothing like as onerous as for alcohol/drugs.

Encouraging working people to waste hard-earned money, that they could be spending on their family, is beyond contempt.
Gambling is a disease, and potentially a lifetime addiction; it destroys lives, marriages & childhoods.
Do better Rupert.
Hi, @LGUK, @LGE_Global,
Just thought I'd let you know that I've unplugged one of your 65" OLED TVs from my home network.
You can no longer invade my privacy.
Don't worry though, because I can still access everything I need via an Apple TV.
I'll never buy an LG product again.

No - how about no tax and a bill for the council services you use and nothing more.
Property tax == wealth tax which is absolutely unjustifiable.

I do believe the UK State is persecuting citizens who dare to dissent.
Those who challenge the prevailing narrative are arrested, publicly vilified and silenced. Their treatment is a warning to anyone else who dares to do the same.
The process is the punishment. Metered out by the witch hunters and then the authorities. In a “you will all comply” type of way.
This is not the way of a functioning democracy. It is how tired civilisations die. And it begins with the state demanding total control.

If he finds out about he'll tax it.
Labour loves everyone else's money.

Today is National black cat day. A day to celebrate how fabulous black cats are. We make wonderful companions but are so often overlooked. Share photos of your black cats today so that we can show how unique each one is 🐈⬛

Politicians, councillors and the like are generally lazy and indolent. They’ll always choose the path of least resistance and prefer to maintain the status quo rather than do anything they don’t *have* to do.

Absolutely disgusting stats on sexual crime rates by country/ region.
These are the men coming in on small boats, claiming asylum and staying here at our expense.
We need to deport all illegal arrivals as they arrive - before they have the chance to commit crimes.
To those who are not great at statistics The Economist chart uses a log scale, so the biggest gaps look smaller than they are.
On a linear scale, Afghanistan’s 8× rate would stretch far past the others. Equal distances would mean equal absolute differences, making the high end dominate the graphic.
A log scale treats equal distances as equal ratios (1× to 2× looks the same as 5× to 10×). That pulls the highest multiples inward and spreads out the lower ones, so the disparities appear more moderate even though the underlying numbers are unchanged.
