From tomorrow (Thursday, Nov 12) we’re updating our COVID-19 visitor policy allowing one household to visit a patient, once per day for two hours, in line with new Department of Health and Human Services guidelines. Children under 16 are also allowed to visit again.

1108 ANZ doctors responded. Only 20% of AU docs have been mask fit tested. NZ better at >50%, but still work to do. SA is a shining light, with VIC and QLD far behind. Please protect us. More results to come. @normanswan @VictorianCHO @amavictoria @amapresident @ASA_Australia

Six months into this pandemic, I wonder if health care workers had been fit-tested 2 months ago and were given N95s 1 month ago, where would we be today? What held us back was the foundational assumption that COVID19 is contact/droplet spread rather than aerosol/airborne.

Here's the latest analysis from the AMA's mathematicians, indicating that the OR is 4.05 for all infections arising amongst HCW's since 16/07/20. Clearly there are cracks in the protection of our health workforce that need to be urgently addressed @healthcare_19 #CovidVic
