House Republicans are absurdly trying to cement their stacked and packed MAGA Supreme Court majority into the Constitution and strip away yet another basic power the Framers gave to Congress. After sycophantically surrendering to Donald Trump our war powers, spending powers, tariff powers, and powers over federal buildings, to name a few, now they want to give up a power we have had since the Republic was founded: the power to decide how many Justices will be on the Supreme Court. We have exercised this power seven times in our history, with the Court having as many as 10 Justices and as few as six. I will vote against this radical measure abdicating a power assigned to us by the Framers simply to please a would-be king.

I've always found this aspect of Trump more confounding than his Cluster B personality disorders.

Holy Cow! "immigration reduces the likelihood that any one of us will be harmed." David Bier of the Cato Institute just destroyed the Trump/Republican talking point about Immigrants and crime before the House panel on Birthright Citizenship. "Nationwide immigrants, even illegal immigrants, are half as likely to commit crimes for which they are incarcerated as US-born Americans. This includes serious traffic crimes. In California, immigrant drivers generally, as well as immigrants with temporary commercial driver's licenses, average about 25% fewer fatal crashes. In Texas, illegal immigrants commit fewer felonies on the roads. This is partly explained by immigrants having substantially lower rates of alcohol abuse. Some immigrants do commit crimes, but since immigrants overall reduce the crime rate, immigration reduces the likelihood that any one of us will be harmed."

With the overwhelming majority of the democratic free world — including all of America's allies — regarding Trump as a habitual liar, it's encouraging that some cable networks are finally refusing to air his remarks live. Kudos to MS NOW's Nicolle Wallace for making that call.

What in the sweet, ever loving name of Saturday Night Live is going on in this shit-show? A Bratz doll on animatronic mode, a grandpa past his medication hour, a shaking adderall addict and a female prison warden in a room that looks like a Copper Art store vomited up inside it

This administration continues to insult the intelligence of the people it is supposed to serve Outright lies and rehashing of long disproven “hypotheses.” There is no middle ground here. No compromise approach The human toll from this utter nonsense is already clear to see.

Webb spots a new "gravitational" trace of the early Universe A galaxy cluster has warped the light from a very distant object, transforming it into an arc—acting as a natural gravitational lens. Such arcs help reveal objects that would otherwise be too faint to see. Homer Davila Gutierrez )identified a candidate for such an arc in the MACS J0308.9+2645 cluster using publicly available data from the James Webb Space Telescope. Based on its photometric redshift of z≈4.4, the object dates back to the early Universe. A preprint is available on arXiv, and the paper is currently under review at PASJ.

Lawmakers being lawless. Can’t the governor go to court or the constituents? Is this another loophole on our constitutional republic.

Mitch McConnell has been dead for weeks and the Republicans will announce his death after the August 4th deadline for the special election The Democrats should sue saying the Republicans withheld information and thus preventing the special election – at Medina, OH

NASA has released one of the most detailed visualizations ever created of Earth’s ocean currents. Using data from satellites and advanced ocean models, the map reveals massive rivers of moving water, swirling eddies hundreds of miles wide, and the powerful Gulf Stream carrying warm water from the Gulf of Mexico across the Atlantic.

It's the perfect portrait of a sociopath.
Yes, this picture won an award. It has been framed and on my office wall since it first appeared. And I'm sorry, but it makes me laugh every time I look at it. I actually took it to Michael's and had it enlarged and framed. Even the employee that helped me was laughing at it. There's that poor guy lying on the floor with his feet in the air while Trump stands there looking like the stupidest man on earth. It is the antithesis of what the presidency should represent.

An off-the-shelf vaccine that targets common KRAS mutations appears safe and generates a durable immune response in people at a high risk for pancreatic cancer, according to a new phase 1 trial. Researchers found that the experimental vaccine spurred KRAS-targeted immune responses in 18 of 20 trial participants, all of whom had a genetic predisposition to pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) and evidence of pancreatic lesions. After roughly 16 months of follow-up, none of the trial participants had developed cancer or high-risk lesions requiring surgery, and eight had partial or complete resolution of their pancreatic lesions. mdsc.pe/4wSxMdt
