Jeeva Subramanian's journey is a reminder of how much talent goes undiscovered when prejudice decides who deserves an opportunity. How many stories remain untold because the people capable of telling them are denied a place in the room?
The applause she receives today matters. But so does the question her journey leaves behind: why must someone endure so much before the world is willing to see what they have to offer?
Jeeva's story deserves to be celebrated, not because she suffered, but because she is an actor with a talent worth recognising. Her dignity was never something the industry could grant her. The opportunity to practise her craft should never have been something she had to fight so hard to earn.
Representation means little if people are welcomed only as exceptions, their identities treated as spectacles and their abilities made secondary to their struggles.
Jeeva wants to be known for her talent. That should never have been too much to ask.

More than 300 severely wounded Tamil fighters were reportedly left alive at Ananthapuram — many unable to walk, without weapons and no longer able to fight. None were seen again.
Now seven survivors have broken their silence. Using their testimony alongside the Sri Lankan military’s own records, ITJP says the evidence points to a massacre of the wounded and finds reasonable grounds to investigate war crimes, including the murder and cruel treatment of people hors de combat. This cannot be buried under the language of “victory” or dismissed as another allegation from 2009.
Wounded people who can no longer fight are protected under international humanitarian law. They cannot simply be executed and erased.
Seventeen years later, the military records must be opened to independent scrutiny and those responsible — including those who gave the orders — must face accountability.
How many more survivors must speak before the world finally acts?

More than 300 severely wounded Tamil fighters were left behind in a single building when the Sri Lankan Army overran Ananthapuram in April 2009. They couldn’t walk and had no weapons. None of them were seen again.
Drawing on seven survivors speaking publicly for the first time, the @itjpsl concludes that the Army’s own body count can only be reconciled with a massacre of the wounded.
“The injured were alive when I left. They had no rifles or explosives or cyanide,” one survivor said.

Agaram 2.5B is out. It's a Tamil-first language model we trained from scratch at @MuraiLabsHQ , our small non-profit lab. As far as we know, it's the first Tamil model trained from scratch that can call tools.
It chats in Tamil, Tanglish and English, translates, and can call tools. We're releasing the base model, chat model and GGUF files under Apache-2.0. You can download it and run it offline on your own laptop.
The first chat model had a four-day public preview. Seeing where it fell short with real users helped us decide what to work on. We rebuilt the fine-tuning around what we saw, using 222,662 records.

சோப்பு, ஷாம்பு கலந்த வீட்டுக் கழிவுநீர்தான் காரணம் என்றாலும், அதுவும் சுத்திகரிக்கப்படாமல் ஆற்றில் கலப்பது அரசின் நிர்வாகத் தோல்விதானே? அந்த விளக்கத்தைச் சொல்வதன் மூலம் தமது துறையின் தோல்வியை அமைச்சரே ஒப்புக்கொள்கிறாரா?
மக்கள் கேட்பது, “எந்தச் சோப்பில் அதிக நுரை வரும்?” என்ற விளம்பர விளக்கமல்ல; “எங்கள் ஆற்றில் என்ன கழிவு கலக்கிறது? அதைத் தடுக்க என்ன நடவடிக்கை எடுத்தீர்கள்?” என்பதற்கான பதில்!
தவறு செய்யும் ஆலைகள் மீது நடவடிக்கை எடுப்போம் என்று சொல்வதுடன் நிறுத்திக்கொள்ளாமல், ஆய்வு செய்யப்பட்ட ஆலைகள் எத்தனை, கண்டறியப்பட்ட விதிமீறல்கள் என்னென்ன, நடவடிக்கைக்கு உள்ளான நிறுவனங்கள் எவை என்பதையும் அமைச்சர் வெளிப்படையாக அறிவிக்க வேண்டும். நுரைக்கான காரணத்தை ஆய்வறிக்கை சொல்லட்டும்; அமைச்சரின் ஊகம் தீர்மானிக்க வேண்டாம்!
ஆற்றைக் காப்பாற்ற வேண்டிய அரசு, மக்கள் குளிப்பதைக் குற்றமாக்கிக் கொண்டிருக்கக்கூடாது. கழிவுநீர் கலக்கும் வழிகளை அடையுங்கள்; சுத்திகரிப்பு நிலையங்களின் செயல்பாட்டை உறுதிசெய்யுங்கள்; விதிமீறும் ஆலைகள் மீது நடவடிக்கை எடுங்கள்! மக்கள் சோப்புப் போட்டுக் குளிப்பார்கள் என அரசு தனது பொறுப்பைக் கைகழுவக்கூடாது!
இத்தகைய விளக்கங்களை அளிப்பவரை வைத்துத்தான் அரசு சுற்றுச்சூழலைப் பாதுகாக்கப் போகிறதா? விளங்கும்!
