Today our Occupational Therapist @prilly84 ran a team teaching for the @HCOPTHERAPY_NUH team on what SDEC is, the role of therapy on SDEC, the holistic approach between the AHP professions and how this is benefitting the patients as well as flow and the pressures on ED

“Thank you for holding, I’ve had a chat with my colleague and explained what’s been going on, he should be able to help you, okay? I’ll just transfer you now…”
One of three things will now happen:
1. You’re transferred to someone who has no idea who you are or what you’ve just been talking about for the last twenty minutes. They say, “I’m not sure why you’ve been put through to me”
2. You’re put on hold and then eventually an automated voice tells you to “listen carefully to the following options…”
3. The line goes dead.

What a brilliant article on #delirium highlighting the importance of #patientexperience and continuing to improve patient centered care. Some really valuable learning and one to be shared with the rest of the team.
