This tweet sent me down a rabbit hole last night and I have a few thoughts about this chart. This chart is factual, but it leaves out a ton of important context about rim attempts and I see it leading to questionable conclusions about rim pressure on X.

This is backed by the data. A missed layup leads to one of the highest PPP’s in both D1 and the NBA -roughly 1.35 PPP. This is also closer to 1.5 PPP if it’s a guard missing the bunny.
The takeaway is rotations on offensive penetration are critical, no matter what your offensive rebounding philosophy is.

BREAKING: The NBA has ruled on the Los Angeles Clippers in for salary cap circumvention investigations on Kawhi Leonard after yearlong probe -- stripping the franchise of 5 first-round picks, issuing a $30 million fine to owner Steve Ballmer and suspensions for Ballmer, Lawrence Frank and Gillian Zucker, sources tell ESPN.
Kawhi Leonard will have to pay $700,000 in restitution for improper benefits by the Clippers for his uncle and former business rep, Dennis Robertson. No contract void or suspension for Leonard. And Robertson -- who was fired by Leonard in June -- is being banned by the NBA from all business dealings.
