One thing I found interesting in YCSE that I haven’t seen discussed is how much more of a chud Billy became just by moving to the manosphere epicenter Austin and being so active on twitter during the lead up to the 2024 election

College football is going to end up with division 1 going back to 1-A and 1-AA, with a new 1-AAA subdivision. The Big Sky and MVFC will get absorbed into 1-AA and Montana will be back with everyone who paid tens of millions of dollars to move up without ever spending a dime.

Imagine if the FBS had always had a playoff system and today announced they were officially disbanding the playoffs to go to a bowl system where every game had a corporate sponsor and the national champion was determined by the media

I think it clearly has hurt the bottom half of the league, but also that the bottom half of the league isn’t materially different from one maybe the 40th-percentile on down. Good teams can get quality minutes out of nearly anyone who belongs in the league
Recent reports asserted that the second apron is hurting “lower” and “middle” class players. That’s untrue. Since the implementation of the second apron, the number of players on team rosters has remained the same and annual salaries have increased by nearly $1.3 billion resulting in pay increases of approximately 30% for all classes of players.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The claim of ~30% pay increases "for all classes" since the second apron is misleading; overall salaries rose (e.g. ~$5.2B to $5.8B in recent data) but median/middle-class gains lag top contracts, with players reporting fewer MLE deals and squeezed opportunities. nytimes.com/athletic/67606… mr-bridge.com/studies/nba-sa… espn.com/espn/print?id=…

It would be a fine answer if he included that the US should arrest and hand over Netanyahu to the ICC. If he becomes president in 2029, this answer does not inspire hope that he would do so
Q: Do you believe Israel has committed genocide Ossoff: The question of genocide is a question… for the ICC. The is no doubt in my mind that they violated the law armed conflict and international humanitarian law.

Tried to explain to my MAGA father that im a socialist because I believe workers should capture the surplus value of their labor, and it was so beyond his capability to understand. Anyone who has bought into anti-socialist propaganda for 70 years like him will eat this shit up
Q: How do you define socialism personally? JD VANCE: I think in reality what it actually means in the American context is you want to replace American workers with foreigners workers, and you want boys to play in girls' sports

When you remember the pacers have been absolute wolves killers the last couple seasons, this first half is so much more promising

Good to see Bill Kennedy back after tearing his ACL last year

After that first quarter, I really hope Finch doesn’t listen to his gut
Chris Finch says he's still mulling whether to stagger Ant/LaMelo: "My gut tells me I want them to be out there together. We've got guys off the bench that can bring punch, that can be handling, that could bring different things, those guys are really good together ..." 1/2

TJ Shannon is next in the line of draft picks Connelly is forcing Finch to play to start a season, joining Minott and Dillingham

The actual top 5: 1. DC 2. NYC 3. Philly 4. Minneapolis 5. Your shitty hometown to watch the worst people you’ve ever met have a mental breakdown
Top five cities to be in when it finally happens: 1. New York City 2. Los Angeles 3. Minneapolis 4. San Francisco 5. Chicago

Now @AshleyMoodyFL. Why would I want to abolish the police when I want you arrested and in jail for stealing $10 million from sick kids? BFFR

I don’t think they want AES to lose per se, but they very clearly want him to win by a smaller margin than any other moderate, and would be thrilled if Dems win the senate but AES loses
Sam Seder says Neera Tanden and Sarah Longwell are desperate for El-Sayed to lose They're using Hasan Piker now, as a function of Sarah Longwell's push to make Hasan a household name, which she did quite effectively. She just lifted it up and let the Republicans pick it up. It's either sheer ignorance of Longwell and Neera or just such a desperate desire to maintain their power They are desperate to have people like Abdul El-Sayed lose. Desperate. You can see it. They are white knuckled.

Obviously gas prices are the leading driver, but being so pro-data centers is really what’s causing the floor to cave in. Lots of folks not interested in local/state politics are going to vote this November because of data center moratoriums and it’s going to cost top ballot Rs
Polls for Republicans are just getting worse by the day in a way that isn't actually all that common in midterms. It's gotta be mostly the gas prices, although maybe AI anxieties are also reverberating negatively for the GOP. Model update out soon.

Hey @NYCMayor what is your response to Kyle Kuzma’s bitch ass being ranked 509 out 530 players in DARKO DPM last season

Whoever is paying Kuzma to post tweets like this lately: How far down the list of NBA players did you get before you found one willing to say yes? Were you aware nobody likes him, he’s bad at basketball, and has always been regarded as a dummy? Was he just the best you could get?
If you believe Palestinians deserve freedom, say it clearly. freedom from Hamas too. Freedom from Iranian-backed terror. Freedom from leaders who use civilians as shields. Compassion cannot be selective…

Kuz is about to lead a team without its first round pick to 19 wins and receive one or two more vet minimums before being out of the league. He’s clearly laying the ground work to become a right wing grifter once he’s retired
Hey @NYCMayor, as a Shi’a Muslim, what is your response to the Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia? The Houthis are a distinct Zaydi Shi’a movement, but attacks have put Mecca, Jeddah, and Taif on alert. Do you condemn them? Thoughts?

If Balmer takes the NBA to court, he’d have to show that 1) cap circumvention is a widespread and common practice and 2) the NBA knowingly allowed such practices to occur for other teams without consequence. Proving just the first point would do literally nothing for his case.

Shams continuing to repeat anything an agent or a front office tell him. Just shamelessly repeating a lie so he can break Kawhi’s next deal 2 seconds before anyone else
Kawhi Leonard reportedly did not have any knowledge of the salary cap circumvention that was going on, per @ShamsCharania (Via @GetUpESPN / h/t @TheNBABase )
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Here's a photo of Kawhi's signature on an agreement with Aspiration Partners, the organization involved in the circumvention: x.com/PabloTorre/sta…
