CW: domestic violence. Poem from my recent collection Panic Response about my chemistry teacher, Avril Brown, who was very kind to me and who deserves to keep shining. (Been talking about her owing to the misogynistic killings in Bushey, which is where she taught me.)

Starmer will reportedly "delay recognition of a Palestinian state" as "it could undermine Britain’s special relationship" with the United States.

Replying to @RishiSunak
@RishiSunak says he is hurt & angry at @reformparty_uk activist using racist language.
How did he think I felt when his top donor Frank Hester said I “made him want to hate all Black women' and I should be shot?

Seven days before the election, the government has postponed the release of statistics showing the catastrophic state of the backlogs in the criminal courts.
Perfectly above board, I’m sure.
Update from @MoJGovUK by 1020am Thursday 27 June 2024
“The release of these statistics has been postponed for further quality assurance following concerns about the quality of key data inputs. This is in line with the Code of Practice for Statistics. We will keep this page updated with future publication plans.”
[Ends]
To confirm the independent criminal bar is continuing to work at full capacity with our cadre of highly trained specialist criminal barristers prosecuting and defending all manner of criminal cases arriving into the Crown Court on top of case backlogs that by the start of 2024 had already scaled 23 year record highs.
We work so that complainants, defendants, victims of crime and their families can see that justice is done once cases come to court,
trial dates are met and conclude, and any sentencing hearings complete.
It is normal for @MoJGovUK to receive all the criminal court statistics for the quarter ending 31 March 2024 from that time and to begin detailed analysis immediately to last for nearly 3 months until publication. Only this month @MoJGovUK’s courts arm @HMCTSgovuk published provisional courts data on “open caseload” to the end of April 2024, covering all 3 months of the first quarter and the first month of the second quarter 2024.
The general election was called around 4pm on Wednesday 22 May 2024.
The @MoJGovUK updated this Tuesday 24 June 2024 to confirm that the release of its first quarter figures would go ahead today 27 June 2024. No explanation was given until after 10am today 27 June 2024 for the decision made at 643pm on Wednesday 26 June 2024 to cancel today’s 930am release date.

Even the BBC now gets that Brexit is a disaster and then it goes over to Starmer still too terrified to utter a single word against it.
