This is actually true—
Duke Energy guaranteed a $10 million line of credit so the Democrats could hold their 2012 convention in Charlotte.
The host committee never paid it back. Duke simply wrote it off. Shareholders (and ultimately ratepayers) ate roughly $6 million of the cost after taxes.
Jim Rogers, Duke’s CEO at the time and a co-chair of the host committee, shrugged it off as a contribution “for the greater good.”
Years later Lynn Good collected $20–21 million packages—mostly stock and incentives—while North Carolina families watched electricity prices climb and the company sought rate hikes.
A regulated monopoly underwriting one party’s convention, absorbing the loss, then handing its top executives eight-figure pay.
That’s the arrangement.
Replying to @RealMashburn4NC
In 2013, Duke Energy co-signed a $10 million loan for the democrats at Bank Of America. The DNC never paid the bill, so Duke Energy did. If you look up the last CEO of Duke Energy, Lynn Wood, she helped herself to around $22 million a year salary using bonuses to do so.

🚨 Brit Hume drops hard truth:
“The Democratic Party has drifted farther to the left than I’ve ever seen. They are out where the buses don’t run.”
“Conservatives tend to be proud to be Americans, no matter who is in office. But liberals in this country have gone sour on America. They’ve given up on America. They’re rooting against America.”
A party infected with radical, anti-American ideology.
Democrats can’t even say America is great when their own team is in charge.

A former FBI deputy assistant director sat in a federal courtroom in Washington today and cried.
Nikki Floris ran counterintelligence. She went in front of Congress on July 19, 2023 and answered questions about whether the Bureau tried to suppress or discredit what was on the Hunter Biden laptop. On Friday the Justice Department charged her, and a second former counterintelligence official named Bradley Benavides, with lying when they did it. The government says the two of them talked that way to bury how deep the FBI's Foreign Influence Task Force was in the Hunter Biden investigations. An obstruction count went on the docket this week.
The country was told that laptop was Russian disinformation before most people had ever seen a page of it. It was not Russian disinformation. It was his laptop.
Nobody cried for the people who got lied to. 💎

You idiots shouldn’t even be breaking a sweat this election. You should be winning by a landslide considering that we are coming to the end of the second term of, arguably, the greatest governor in the history of Florida, Gov. DeSantis.
You really screwed yourselves when you screwed Florida’s hard working families and small business owners by ignoring our demands for gubernatorial primary debates and then coronating Byron, the corrupt candidate who is being funded by wealthy corrupt special interest donors, against our objections.
All of you idiots need to be fired and replaced with GOP leaders who will put the interests of Florida’s families and small business owners above those of your wealthy corrupt special interest donors.
For future reference, here is what a real conservative governor looks like…..
Florida Republicans are taking the lead in total early voting!
We’re building momentum but we can’t take anything for granted. Not for one second! The Democrat Socialists are coming after our Sunshine State, and we can’t let them undo the progress we’ve made under Gov. @RonDeSantis.
Let’s keep it going! Call family, text friends. Get EVERYONE out to vote!
And every single one of them were corrupt to the bone.

Ron DeSantis is what heroes look like.
Can’t wait to see him back on the campaign trail once the 2028 election rolls around.

Today I issued an Executive Order designating “Seminole Wind” by John Anderson as the official anthem of Florida.
I have also directed the @FLSecofState to erect historic markers in the City of Apopka depicting John Anderson’s contribution to Florida’s heritage.
In addition, I have tasked @FLDEPNews to work with the @SJRWMD to designate wildlife drive and trail system within Lake Apopka North Shore as the John Anderson Wildlife Drive and Trail System.
Hmmm, he’d be a good President.
As Ron DeSantis enters the final weeks of his governorship of Florida, look at what he has accomplished.
His record is nothing short of miraculous and may be the single most effective governorship in the history of the United States.
Let’s remember….
He was the first to stand up to crazy COVID restrictions and reopen schools and businesses, he led the nation in school choice with more than half 1 million families now in the school of their choosing, he eliminated state debt and left the state with 18 billion in rainy day funds, and most importantly he signed the Heartbeat Protection Act, which ended most abortions after six weeks.
Everyone I know who lives in Florida says it is the most well-run state in the country. Well done governor!🙏

In 2018 Comey went on ABC News to spread the lie that Trump may have peed on prostitutes in Moscow.
Comey knew this was not true. He knew that the Steele Dossier was fiction and was paid for by the Clinton campaign.
Comey is an evil man. Hopefully he gets what he deserves.

The Brewers are being celebrated like they invented baseball.
They are doing things that have become unusual.
They have an old school tough manager who players love playing for.
They focus on basic easy to understand basic fundamentals.
They have a hitting coach that was an overachieving player for skill that played in the big leagues.
They hit the ball the other way.
They value putting the ball in play.
They adjust their approach based on situation and count.
They are not addicted to exit velocity and launch angle bullshit.
They bunt and steal bases.
They do not have selfish superstars that need to be treated like celebrities.
The Brewers simply play the game how it was meant to be played.

The second-largest United Methodist Church in America voted overwhelmingly to leave the denomination.
Members of Highland Park United Methodist Church in Dallas overwhelmingly voted on Oct. 25-26 to leave The United Methodist Church.
Of the 4,775 votes cast, 90.35% voted to “sever all of its ties, affiliations, and connections to The United Methodist Church,” according to a letter sent to Highland Park members on Oct. 26.
I predict many more will do the same.

Friends, I could really use some help.
A large group of Amish builders from Ohio are spending the next FIVE MONTHS fixing homes damaged by Hurricane Helene for FREE in Western North Carolina and South Carolina.
There's just one problem... the Amish don't drive, so they need drivers to take them back and forth to job sites and drop off trailers (if you have a truck).
I have already volunteered to help, but we need more volunteers.
If you feel led and are in the area, there's a sign up sheet in the comments.
You'll get free breakfast and free dinner too + you'll get to meet some of the heroes who have been working here to rebuild.

Aaron Rodgers sat at that podium in Paris and said out loud what the corporate league office spends millions trying to sanitize.
The NFL talks endlessly about “player safety” and “expanding the global game.” But behind closed doors, owners scrapped player-friendly bye weeks, forced a brutal 17th regular-season game, and shipped franchises across oceans simply because there was another dollar to squeeze out of foreign TV markets.
While families and players navigate locked-down streets, civil tension, and grueling travel schedules, ownership sits in five-star suites counting international expansion checks.
Rodgers doesn't care about league fines anymore. He’s telling you the truth: in the modern NFL, the brand and the balance sheet come first. The humans on the field come second.

I don't care what you think of Aaron Rodgers. He is one of the few men, in any sport, who will speak the truth.

The FBI and DEA just pulled a trucking boss out of a nice neighborhood in Eagle Pass, Texas, and I can't find one English-language outlet covering it.
His name is Julio Rodolfo González. Mexican border papers report he's facing a federal money laundering conspiracy charge tied to fuel smuggling.
They also say the case may be sealed, which usually means more people are about to get a knock on the door.
This is the diesel racket nobody in Washington talks about. Hundreds of semis cross into Eagle Pass empty every single day, fill up on Texas diesel, and haul it right back to Mexico.
The bridge got so jammed that a 30 minute wait turned into six or eight hours for legitimate freight.
It gets worse. One Mexican reporter says González may be a U.S. contact for the fuel network run by the Farías Laguna brothers.
Those are high-ranking Mexican Navy officers accused of running fuel tankers out of Houston and pocketing more than $150 million.
Black-market fuel, crooked officials, and a Texas border town stuck in the middle. Where is the national press on this one?
