Secretary of the Air Force Troy Meink visited York on Friday, October 2, meeting with company leadership and touring York’s Willow headquarters production facility. The visit provided a firsthand look at York’s spacecraft manufacturing capabilities, supported by the company’s $755 million investment in production capacity and spacecraft inventory.
The visit follows recent contract awards and selections, including two task orders under the Space Data Network (SDN) program and selection for the NITE-STAR IDIQ contract vehicle. York currently operates 5 missions across 3 constellations from 3 mission operations centers, supporting customers from spacecraft production through on-orbit operations.

Great work @Starcloud_ team. Excited to see our @NVIDIA H100 planned for Lunar orbit.
Starcloud is going to the moon! 🌚🚀
I'm excited to share that @Starcloud_ has signed an agreement with @FireflySpace to fly onboard Firefly's Elytra spacecraft in lunar orbit, validating capabilities for a future orbital lunar data center.
Integrated on Elytra, Starcloud’s SC-1L processor, including the @NVIDIA H100, will ingest data from Firefly’s onboard Solux vision system, perform high-power AI computing on orbit, and rapidly transmit the processed data back to Earth. The demonstration builds directly on our recent AI computing demonstration in low Earth orbit, extending those proven capabilities into lunar orbit, a strategic priority for both @NASA and the @USSpaceForce.

The character of conflict has changed, and the architectures underneath it must change with it.
York is proud to support @USSF_SSC vision for a resilient Space Data Network, building the communications infrastructure warfighters operating across manned and unmanned formations will count on to win.
With 3 constellations and 5 missions in operation today, York already delivers the tactical communications mission the SDN builds on. SDN is the next mission we're built to lead.
Bringing the best tech to our missions!🛰️We’re investing in a multi-vendor architecture to build the next gen of the Space Data Network. #USSF has initiated a strategic partnership w/ 5 space companies to develop a highly resilient, open-architecture SDN. ssc.spaceforce.mil/Newsroom/…

Space is getting crowded and we’re doing something about it.🛰️
We secured a new contract with @DIU_x and @SemperCitiusSDA to design a mission providing deorbit services with our Elytra spacecraft.
Our proprietary system is equipped to deorbit end-of-life satellites of vastly different sizes to help mitigate the growing space debris challenge our industry is up against.

When the test stand is this hot, you know orbit is getting close! A 226‑second full‑power firing is a huge step toward flight readiness and toward launches of Eclipse and Antares 330 that will strengthen U.S. launch capability.
Let’s go @fireflyspace 🚀
What’s hotter than a Texas summer? Our Miranda engine.🔥
We fired our Miranda engine at full power for 226 seconds— that’s almost 4 minutes!
This endurance test verifies that the engine can perform beyond the nominal flight duration, meaning this engine is one step closer to being ready for flight. Seven of these Miranda engines will generate the thrust needed to lift our Eclipse rocket off the launch pad and propel it into orbit.

Scaling the Future of Pharmaceutical Development in Space. 💊 🚀
Today Redwire's SpaceMD announced its first commercial mission on @SpaceX Starfall Spacecraft, accelerating our ability to deliver pharmaceutical, biotech and other in-space microgravity manufacturing capabilities.
Launching in 2028, SpaceMD plans to fly 32 PIL-BOXes, making it the largest dedicated commercial microgravity research mission flown to date.
“Space-based pharmaceutical development is reaching an inflection point,” said John Vellinger, CEO of SpaceMD. “For decades, Redwire has built and operated the infrastructure that has enabled critical progress in microgravity research. Now, by combining our flight-proven microgravity payloads, such as PIL-BOX, with SpaceX’s innovative transportation capabilities, we’re dramatically expanding our ability to serve customers, increase research cadence, and accelerate the creation of life-changing therapies.”
