The proposed 39 redundancies will devastate the Faculty of Education & Social Sciences who I have worked closely with over the years on a #RightToFood
I urge the management of @LiverpoolHopeUK can reconsider these damaging cuts.

Disability Studies is more important now than ever.
As an alumni of the MA Disability Studies course who benefited significantly from studying on it, I assure you that it is a course worth keeping - not least because of its impact within the wider disabled academic community.
Thank you to all the lovely colleagues signing this open letter challenging 39 proposed redundancies at Liverpool Hope. These redundancies disproportionately target those of us in Social Sciences and Disability Studies docs.google.com/document/d/1…

To decrease the size of the university, we need a dean of university efficiency. We’ll fix everything by creating a new dean!

The Education (Scotland) bill currently recognises Gaelic but not #BSL.
We’re working with @DeafAction, @RNID, @dbscotland, @ALLIANCEScot to make sure BSL and #deaf children’s needs are recognised too.
@Ross_Greer MSP let us know about the impact of the campaign so far.

There’s lots of discussion about disability and work lately. There is much less discussion on what good work looks like for disabled people. One of the elements of this? Where disabled people are not paid less than non disabled people for doing the same job #DisabilityPayGap
Today is #DisabilityPayGap day.
The day when Disabled workers stop getting paid for the rest of the year.
Yet, life costs £1,010 more each month for Disabled households than non-disabled households.
We are calling on the Government to END the Disability Pay Gap.

Troubling to see some academics making this about themselves. My research on literary character actually sheds a lot of light on this phenomenon, which I call "academic main character syndrome" 1/n
