I love how these losers never consider the possibility that some of us are just making games for the joy of creating. It’s not a waste of my time, it’s literally what I do for fun.
If you make games without AI, you're wasting your time.
Here's how I build Ladder Knight. I leave a note right on the map and keep working. A minute later, the change is in the game.
From small things like basic decor or a slightly higher jump, to entirely new mechanics like a block that moves on any path and connects to any buttons. Each one is just a note.
I test it right in the editor. The editor is made completely by AI too. Even this video was made with a feature AI added, because I didn't want to waste time cropping it.
Years ago I spent more time making editors than making games (I worked on mobile games in 2020). Now the tools grow with the game.
If you ever dreamed of making your own game, there was never a better time to start.

wild how AI bros seem to think its just the steam-required disclaimer that's making people not buy their games, instead of any other reason
STEAM IS SCARING TIM SWEENEY🛑
Here is the real reason Tim is attacking Steam for the dumbest reasons ever at the moment:
- Steam rightfully deservingly basically owns PC Gaming. 8 years spent on Epic store, Epic 2.0 vibe coded and still nobody wants it, cause its trash
- Unreal Engine 6 is heavily focused on adding as much AI tools as possible for creating Games, Generative tools not just supportive ones
- This means all games made within Unreal Engine 6 will technically majority of them be AI GAMES
- That means all those games would have to be marked as AI used in creating them within Steam storefront.
- Tim Sweeney is scared this will cause less developers to use his engine and use a non AI focused engine instead
- He is getting desperate throwing everything at the wall to force a change on steam based on what profits his corporate ideas…
WHY STEAM AI INFO IS GOOD:
Steam unlike every other Gaming company is smart. They make choices based on what people are saying not what corporate says.
Steam focuses on earning you the players trust to always win against every other company, exactly an idea Toyota used in car industry and it worked
Steam sees gamers want to know if a game used AI in it? They liked to be informed about that?
It says HERE YOU GO! Let me make your job easy for you!
THATS WHY WE LOVE STEAM. The Game Launcher wins that evolves based on what i say, not a boring man in a suit
A product wins that makes my life easier, not made based on Game companies greed
Tim Sweeney has always had a mindset of fuck the customer, design everything based on maximum profit
Valve and Gabe have a mindset of earn the trust of customers do whats goos for them, in return they will become loyal fans
Is valve right to do this? You have to be stupid to think not🥹
Look at how Gabe has become a praised legend seen as only good guy and company in gaming
While Tim Sweeney has become the most hated person on twitter
One was smart, the other too greedy
Replying to @UnrealEngine
Personally I always felt like Unreal was the most professional of the engine offerings; High-end visuals, made to work well with teams as well as of course a strong programming language...
But this is just embarrassing, like really, just stop? What are you doing?

I usually check out as many games as possible in Next Fest, but the tidal wave of AI trash has beaten me
Non-AI indie devs please post your games below and I'll check em out instead
Also @Steam PLEASE add an option to filter AI games in searches. It's killing discoverability

Making a game is art. It’s like an extension of you. I really think it’s one of the most vulnerable things a person can do. You tear off a piece of yourself, hold it up to the world and say, “Here’s what I love, and I hope you love it too”.
Takes balls. Keep it up, indies! ❤️

I enjoy coding, I enjoy game design, I enjoy modeling, I enjoy putting it all together and see it come to life. I might be slow, and I might not be the best dev in existence, but I enjoy it. And I want to learn and improve.
If I fall behind, so be it. This is not a race.
I've made 6 open-source @godotengine projects perfect for as a base for your first or next game. Completely human-made and easy to understand code & comments. All visuals and sounds included, CC0!

Don't let billionaires convince you slop is the future. They're used to managing & directing, not making things themselves. Of course they can't see the difference. They don't understand your love for the craft. Keep making personal, beautiful games.
