I'm gonna be as nice as I can be, because my gut is that you're young: We've been "engaging with that topic" for decades. The reason you're "not allowed" to make money off of fanfic is because it's the ONLY legal protection we have. This isn't about you. It never was.

Maybe unpopular opinion but i think more fic writers should start doing commissions and setting up like donos or something like i think that should be as common of a practice as selling fan merch and doing fanart comms
