Yes, #Gorbachev played a key role in ending the Cold War and he has remained critical of Putin and war in Ukraine, but let’s not forget that he was also responsible for bloodshed in Tbilisi, Vilnius, Riga, Almaty and Baku, as well as lying about Chernobyl. No need to idolise him.
