The International Olympic Committee has scrapped its Gender Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Commission. The group of gender ideologists that inflicted so much damage on women’s sport has been unceremoniously dismantled. Good. There is no place for fairy tale thinking at any level of sport.

And you know what’s coming… Owner of Hostelle London, Bianca Brasdorp, says: ‘We are committed to providing an inclusive and safe environment where all women can feel welcomed and valued. This includes transgender women, whose presence enriches our community, we honor (sic) and affirm their gender identity, acknowledging their rightful place in this space.’ Has Bianca been living under a rock? Errr… hello… Supreme Court ruling… you can’t say something’s women-only and then let the men in… allowing males to share dormitories and showers with women and girls is a SAFEGUARDING FAIL! Women who haven’t read the full website and turn up to find a male in their room have every reason to be angry at being deceived. Do better Bianca. Or at least read the EHRC Code of Practice which is very clear on how to interpret the Law. Women-only really must mean women only. It’s the law.

🚩 🚩 🚩 Brighton Council is prepared to put women and children in harm’s way in its pursuit of mixed-sex changing rooms at its leisure centre. Its risk assessment stating that a mixed-sex changing village will have a ‘positive benefit’ flies in the face of the actual evidence that sexual predators use mixed-sex changing rooms to target women and children in a state of undress. Our research of police data from all over the country shows that 86-88% of crimes in changing rooms in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and 100% in Scotland, took place in MIXED-SEX facilities. (Single-sex changing rooms accounted for 12-14% of changing rooms crimes in E, W and NI.) The council seems hell-bent on designing-in harm to its female residents and will require the leisure centre operator, Freedom Leisure, to provide extra staff training. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Here’s a thought: how about designing OUT the harm by providing single-sex changing rooms as standard, with separate family changing rooms for those who need it? Seems obvious to most ordinary people that deliberately designing a changing room that will attract sexual predators might (will) cause problems down the line… The safest changing room is a single-sex changing room.

Our new Red Flag Campaign Retail focuses on the safety of women and girls in high street stores and supermarkets. Mixed-sex changing rooms attract sexual predators looking for easy access to women and girls in a state of undress. Our research in Leisure Centres found that 86-100% of sexual crimes in leisure centre changing rooms occurred in mixed-sex facilities. (Our leisure centre research is published on our website.) Now we are turning our attention to the dangers of high street changing rooms. 🚩🚩🚩 Women and girls are experiencing voyeurism, illicit photography, even sexual assault, because retailers have abandoned single-sex changing rooms in favour of ‘inclusive’ mixed-sex changing facilities. Retailers have a duty of care to their customers and we say denying women the privacy, dignity and safety of a single-sex changing room is a dereliction of their duty to keep us safe on their premises. 1/3

Uncharacteristically factual and impartial report on the case of Dr Sarah Redvers by @BBCNews. No doctor should be persecuted and subjected to a witch hunt for raising entirely legitimate concerns about the safeguarding of vulnerable children. Under the Conversion Practices Bill, would she also have faced a criminal investigation? It’s unforgivable that these children were harmed by those meant to protect them - and that those who raised the alarm were instead punished.

Women’s sport has a long way to go… in the USA, women are forcibly removed from a National Women’s Soccer League fixture for wearing T-shirts… The @NWSL has a terrible record of allowing men in the female game. There are dozens of males with disorders of sexual development who play in big-name clubs, earning millions. They take women’s places in football, they take women’s accolades, their salaries, their places in international tournaments. Women are forced to share changing rooms with these men. This could stop overnight if @FIFA said ‘no’. This could stop overnight if the @NWSL said ‘no’. These men are already playing in international tournaments. Our top female footballers won’t play males in their league matches over here but at international level males are welcomed into the game.
