Our high school got rid of quarters five years ago. Instead we have rolling grades, which keeps a continuous average throughout the year. No more "end of quarter" last-ditch efforts to submit work. And because there is no "end," I can be more accommodating. #bfc530

Take a listen as Patrick Boylan, a Round Rock High School Chemistry Teacher, describes a few of the current challenges teachers are experiencing in the classroom. The truth is, Round Rock ISD salaries are below the average for school districts in the area.

If you agree with Texas educators that the #txlege should keep school funding even with inflation, please take less than a minute to tell them so now – and share this link with everyone you know who supports #txed.

Essentially the argument in favor of school vouchers in the Texas Senate right now isn't about what's good for kids. It's about what would be good for Republican legislators: Bragging rights about a voucher program at national legislative conferences #TxLege

Texas doesn't need vouchers esp during a pandemic, teacher shortage, & w/ unfixed safety concerns. We need to invest in public schools, not divest & create a more inefficient & inequitable system @TexasAFT @pastors4txkids @EducateTexas @dsknight84 @txascd

Excellent points by my colleagues @DrDeMatt @dsknight84. Money matters for all schools but particularly for these schools located in communities with low resources.
Forget campus A-F ratings for a min. What should we rate our state leaders when TX schools serving urban/rural low-income kids are inadequately funded & often staffed w/ the least experienced & effective teachers? "F" @TexasAFT @pastors4txkids @MALDEF wacotrib.com/opinion/columni…
