This is why we won’t fly JSX anymore. 2 years ago coming back from an orthopedic conference pilot came in fast and high at DAL. He attempted to land on now a short runway. Plane bounced twice, right wing almost hit ground and then went for a go around. We landed safely and I pulled the ATC tapes and seemed pilot error. After this terrifying ordeal, found out the qualifications of the pilots was minimal. Back then minimum hours was 250 now it’s 600hrs but most of those could be earned in single piston engine, only 50 hours multi engine and no turbine/jet hour minimums. Credit for simulator time. Must have flown 100 hours in last 12 months. They are a charter 135 meaning doesn’t have to follow commercial airlines rules. With recent air tragedy I think many are realizing the importance of experience. There is no substitute for time and merit should be only consideration in hiring.
