The rule has a place in @NFL.
That place is a runner with the ball having free rein of movement & of thought targeting a defender & aiming his helmet to do damage.
That rule has merit.

On this @Giants play with Skat he pinballed out of the pile & has no way of deciding to not use his helmet.
