Myles Turner on what went wrong in the #Bucks season opening loss 128-116 to the Wizards: “I think our biggest problem tonight on the defensive side of the board was fouls (32 fouls resulted in 41 free throw attempts). I think we played a pretty solid defensive game, I liked the the way our guys were rotating, I liked the fight and the competitiveness. You can’t win any basketball game if a team is living in the bonus for four quarters in a row. When you have two of their better players getting to the line every play, it kills our momentum, we can’t really get out and run as we’d like to. You have to tip your cap to them, they found ways to manipulate the game.”

Plenty of praise out of #Bucks HC Taylor Jenkins on Brayden Burries in his NBA debut. 12 points (2-2 3PT) in 16 min off the bench. “A lot of good things, the shots were great, but I thought he was also making good reads, he was one of our guys that was able to get downhill… looked very comfortable. I thought he did a lot of good things defensively… this is great for him to get this exposure right out of the gate, his two-way impact is something we’re gonna continue to stress for him…”

Taylor Jenkins’ opening statement on the #Bucks game 1 loss to the Wizards. Touched on allowing 70 points in the paint, 41 free throw attempts, and that late 21-2 run that flipped the game.

Kyle Kuzma on the #Bucks loss to the Wizards in the season opener: “We competed for 3 1/2 quarters, for most of the game we were in a great spot, but in this league you have to play 48 minutes. There were a lot of positives to take out it. We’re gonna watch the film and also look at a lot of the negatives that we had.”

#Bucks fall 128-116. They withheld a 39-pt 3rd qtr but just couldn’t do the same with a 38-pt 4th qtr. Once the Wizards started making shots and the lid was on the hoop for Milwaukee, the defense suffered. Washington needed to dominate in the paint and 70 pts in the paint is how you do it. A lot to learn from, especially how to stop the bleeding when shots aren’t falling.
