Please read this blog written by my friend & colleague at ⁦@PHE_uk⁩ It is eloquent & poignant, and written *anonymously* so they could speak their full truth... and they have some things to say “Im about to rebranded for the 4th time in my career” bonuslady.mailchimpsites.com…

Matt Hancock wants to strengthen public health in England. I'll say again, public health is so so much more than health protection.

Might be of interest. In 2017, @PHE underwent an independent international peer-review from @IANPHIhealth - the International Association of National Public Health Institutes. An organisation that strengthens government agencies responsible for public health. Thread/

The Government has announced is splitting up @PHE_uk PHE. You may think this a good or bad thing but do not be fooled. The agency is in many ways infuriating but most of what it is blamed for is the fault of others ... telegraph.co.uk/politics/202…

Thinking about @PHE_WestMids @PHE_uk colleagues following events over the weekend. I have observed nothing but unrelenting dedication and professionalism during my time with PHE, even more so since January with colleagues working above and beyond every single day

As @BlennerhassettA put it, they deserve much more respect than this. Agree test and trace needs to be more localised, but to be considering wide scale organisational change during a pandemic 🤔
Strengthening public health in England is not just about @PHE_uk Let’s start with coherent strategy and compelling vision and clarity about local and regional roles and resources. Only then rearrange the National deckchairs @MattHancock @didoharding @jimmcmanusph @KateAlvanley

Really upset for all my colleagues at @PHE_uk this morning. There are human beings behind this organisation. They have worked tirelessly & relentlessly throughout this pandemic & still do. There have been no "public health heroes". They deserve respect.
