Thanks, @settling_mud! I want people to know how intelligent, wise, and energetic you are about your work. It's really stellar. If you haven't heard Xin speak, you should do so. If you want her help in your organization with sociotechnical correction, get in line. True story 😃

At the first #DDDEU in 2016, a common conversation was "I'm the only DDD advocate, how do I ...". Today, it's "I'm leading the DDD evangelism group in my company, how do I ..."

I spent the first half day of #DDDEU learning more about systems thinking applied to organisations. First, in the opening keynote by @settling_mud about her learnings from a transformation involving applying DDD all over a big organisation.

Awesome session mapping with my education research group ... we narrowed it down to three areas that matter for future investment - new practices (teaching people to think, use of AI etc), changing the management metrics and adapting learning environments (to virtual, games etc).

X : How do you create a movement? Me : It's difficult. You'll need purpose, hard work and a lot of luck. X : How do you know if you've succeeded? Me : Ask yourself - "do my ideas die with me"? If they continue to spread and develop without you then you have a movement.

X : What are your views on thought leadership? Me : Not a term I like. However, leadership implies followership. There is no thought leadership without a movement behind it. The most powerful video on how to become a thought leader is the following - youtube.com/watch?v=fW8amMCV…
