Do you work with flu diagnostics? I'd really value your input! I'm running an anonymous survey on current flu serology testing practices and future diagnostic needs. 🔗 forms.office.com/e/hawnUDGuz… Please share with colleagues who may be interested! #Influenza #Diagnostics

Delighted to say that our manuscript has been published in Vaccine: "Time of day of vaccination does not influence antibody responses to pneumococcal and annual influenza vaccination in a cohort of healthy older adults" lnkd.in/eT4VP6nj

1/In a study of individuals over 50 years old receiving pneumococcal and annual influenza vaccines, we found that the time of vaccination (morning or afternoon) did not affect short- or long-term antibody responses.

4/These findings suggest that while the timing of vaccination is not critical, further work is needed to ensure all older adults are adequately protected.
17
3/The study also revealed that responses vary depending on the specific vaccine components, with particularly weak responses to the influenza B Victoria strain.
28
2/While most participants maintained their immune response for up to a year, 18% showed suboptimal responses, emphasizing the need for improved vaccines to protect older adults.

#Myeloma Paper of the Day: Myeloma patients with active disease or in remission after therapy have low levels of salivary IgG and IgA antibody levels against Pneumococcus, which may further contribute to infection risk: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/3924…. #mmsm
