Blackouts incoming. Awesome. That ought to be a real shitstorm.
BREAKING 🚨 The Federal Government just declared a POWER GRID EMERGENCY across 13 states + D.C...
Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia... and Washington D.C.
The Department of Energy just issued an emergency order to PJM, the grid that powers 65 MILLION people... running Oct 13 through Oct 16.
Continued HOT temperatures are straining the grid... so power plants are now allowed to run PAST their pollution limits just to keep the lights on...
And as a LAST RESORT before rolling blackouts... PJM can force data centers and other big power users off the grid and onto their backup generators.
The grid could have as little as ~900 MW of cushion left...
This is NOT normal.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The DOE order follows PJM's request for flexibility amid forecasted tight conditions from warm fall weather plus ~62,000 MW planned maintenance outages; PJM states its alerts require no customer action.

Society is just barely held together by this breed of White man who is willing to eat almost any amount of hardship if it means doing what's moral and good
There is a point where that contract falls apart and we're extremely close to it, and once it happens things change very quickly

I don’t want to have to prepare for a military emergency, I want my fuckass government to stop doing shit in other countries that makes everyone in the world hate us.
BREAKING: US military is preparing for the possibility of a major war that could cripple power grids, disrupt supply chains and threaten critical infrastructure on US soil, per NY Post.
It comes as Former FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino tells Americans to take the emergency preparedness warnings seriously, saying "Get your stuff today. Please. Do it for your family."

What is Trump anticipating will go down that needs US National Guard units in all 50 states?
BREAKING: US National Guard units in all 50 states are now quietly "mobilizing for next week's elections," per Ken Klippenstein.
The mission covers direct observation of ballot drop boxes and polling places, plus federal cybersecurity support.
It is the first time in US history the National Guard is being deployed at this scale ahead of elections.
Hegseth ordered military spy agencies to "mobilize every asset … to defend our election" so that "every lawful voter can cast their ballot free from foreign intimidation, coercion, or fear."
OMINOUS BEYOND BELIEF:
The US Army is conducting drills practicing digging mass “temporary graves”.
And what is the operation called?
Operation DRAGON COVENANT. You cannot make this shit up!
Thank you .@DavidSmuts for alerting me.

yeah I keep coming back to like
“In what universe is any US military base on the mainland disconnected for 90 days. Like there are only VERY BAD possible outcomes this is referring to?”
Chat said the only things that could reasonably cause something this catastrophic are the cascadia mega earth quake, nuclear war, or a ground war on US soil
This preparation is only useful for an outcome that anyone who’s ever fought in a US war would deem complete and utter disgrace to the entire history of our country
I don’t think people realize military bases already have 14-day independence orders from 2017.
To actually lose contact with the outside world for 90 continuous uninterrupted days with no backup plans working anywhere in the continental United States implies catastrophic circumstances the likes of which the world has never imagined was a serious possibility.
Under what circumstances would domestic US military bases be cut off from all external fuel, food and water supplies for 90 days???
Seriously.
How brutally bad would it be outside these bases for the bases themselves to be completely cut off???
And most critically: why are we letting the AI companies put all of us in this unimaginable position???

Totally normal routine tests definitely not because the critical infrastructure of the United States is under relentless attack by infinite amounts of hostile domestic and foreign AI agents.

In almost any large city on Earth, if the entire power grid collapses at three in the morning and every streetlamp and alarm goes dead, store owners board up their windows to stop looting.
At 3:08 a.m. on September 6, 2018, a magnitude 6.7 earthquake struck Hokkaido, Japan, knocking out one hundred percent of the electricity for all 5.3 million residents.
Every traffic light, ATM, and refrigerator across the island went dark at once.
Instead of locking their doors or raising prices, clerks at Hokkaido's local convenience store chain, Seicomart, opened their emergency kits before dawn.
Years earlier, the company had equipped every store with power inverters designed to plug directly into the twelve-volt car batteries of employees' vehicles parked outside the front doors, alongside propane gas rice cookers that do not rely on electric lines.
By sunrise, over ninety-five percent of their one thousand one hundred stores were open.
With cables running from idling cars into the registers, clerks cooked fresh, steaming hot salted rice balls over propane flames by lantern light and sold them for the exact same one-dollar price as the day before.
Outside in the dark, thousands of hungry neighbors stood quietly in single-file lines, counting out exact coins and bowing to the exhausted staff.
Civilization is revealed when the lights go out.
