This is one of the reasons why David Eby called the election

Probably the fiscal situation is so dire that there is no choice but to cut next year. Austerity now makes an election in 2 years difficult, but 4 years from now, long forgotten.

What’s the definition of doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result?
So according to @Prominent_Bryan, everyone should be paid $3.40 an hour. Why stop at Ferries? Teachers? BCGEU employees? Who gets paid $3 and hour and who doesn't?
Perhaps there are some local security companies that could be sent to these types of calls instead of @TorontoPolice. It is simply too much for them to manage.
We want to address some confusion surrounding the investigation into the home invasion in the Bridle Path neighbourhood.
Investigators immediately recognized the potential connection between the home invasion and the individual who showed up at hospital with a gunshot wound.
But recognizing a potential suspect and having enough evidence to arrest them are two different things. Suspicion alone isn’t enough. Police need reasonable grounds, supported by evidence, to make an arrest.
We will continue to gather evidence and will go where the evidence takes us. We are grateful for the professionalism, tenacity and commitment of our investigators who continue this work.
Let’s keep the focus where it belongs: finding the outstanding suspects and holding those responsible for this violent home invasion accountable.
Is turning yourself into a pretzel for fear of being called a racist creating racism itself?
Unintended consequences.

Perhaps if someone did their job this wouldn't be a thing.

There are so many symbols of BCNDP failure, with the Massey Tunnel being one of the more noticeable.
Almost an entire decade yet they couldn't get it done and wasted millions on nothing.
Massey Tunnel commuters won’t be driving underwater for too much longer if the new B.C. government gets its way. The Conservatives are planning to scrap the BC NDP’s eight-lane tunnel for what they say is a cheaper, quicker 10-lane bridge vancouver.citynews.ca/2026/1…

I don’t know if I’ve seen anyone post about this yet, but the next generation of BC voters has spoken! 👏🏼
More than 110,000 students participated in the 2026 Student Vote and the BC Conservatives came out on top with 40 seats and the largest share of the popular vote.
I love seeing young people getting involved in democracy and taking an interest in the future of our province.
The future of BC is in their hands!

Oh god. This incompetent woman was one of the province’s most ardent pushers of “safer supply.”
Less than 2% of the province is populated. Of that, 0.06% is populated to a point of being considered Urban/Suburban density.
Urban Sprawl is a term used for misinformation purposes. Here is BC's density map.
Welp it didn't take long for the first bad decision from this new government

What a coincidence.
British Columbia’s snap election was scheduled a day after a number of NDP MLAs qualified for a full pension.

The establishment spent last 10 years dividing everyone up based on race, religion, ability, gender, addiction, etc. Any majority from these groupings was vilified.
Now we have an election decided by a majority. Some are so enraged by this that they threaten violence.
Should we be surprised?

She did well at the leaders debate to then throw away all credibility with her election acceptance speech.

Well. I'm glad to see OneBC was successful in ensuring only those pure enough could vote for the party.
For those saying the BC Conservatives will cut. I can assure you the BCNDP would have cut as well. Eby wanted 2 more years in hopes people would forgive him.
Look at this chart. This is NOT new debt. This is old debt coming up for renewal under much higher interest rates. We are in big trouble.
I am going to be very interested in knowing what the BC Conservatives find when they open the financial books for BC.
The BCNDP won't be able to hide things any longer.

The view that men can become women is an extreme view. The view that children are born in wrong bodies and must be surgically and chemically 'fixed' without their parents' knowledge is an extreme view. The view that people who own their homes should relinquish title because someone else wants it is an extreme view. The NDP are the extremists.
