20+ app updates on my Duo since my review already, and there’s a new section in the App Store for apps optimized for duo as preorders start to arrive. Developers are off to the races

🥳 The payoff after a busy couple of months: Penbook made it to the App Store's "Great Apps on iPhone Duo" list! Can't wait to try all the other apps in this collection. Thanks for the love @AppStore .

Uber: We have many cars 1 minute away, see? Me: I’ll take it. Uber: Great! Give me 5 minutes to find a real one. Me: What? Uber: Locked! <map zooms out> He’ll be here in 12 minutes!

I was wondering about this, since I got zero developer emails announcing HomeView (usually they're right on it when a new device comes out)
John Voorhees
@johnvoorheesOct 13
Wired's HomeView story is the only original reporting I can find that says third-party apps are supported via CarPlay. CarPlay makes some sense as a way to push apps to the HomeView, but unless the entitlement is opened wider, it also makes no sense at all. I suspect this is just the mechanism for audio and video apps and not a more general developer channel for making apps. Wired story: wired.com/story/apple-homevi…

The Apple HomeView Is Like a Giant Apple Watch for the Home

With customizable “faces,” this 7-inch smart display is a unique hybrid between an iPhone and an Apple Watch.
