#BREAKING A commemoration is underway in Novi Sad, Serbia, marking two years since the collapse of the renovated railway station canopy, which claimed 16 lives.
The tragedy sparked mass protests that ultimately brought an end to 14 years of SNS rule.

A potentially major shift in Kosovo politics: There will be no political cooperation between Serbia’s victorious Student List and Srpska Lista, says Jugoslav Gašić.
Why does this matter?
Srpska Lista governs all ten Serb-majority municipalities in Kosovo and holds nine of the ten parliamentary seats reserved for Serbs. Closely tied to Vučić’s SNS, its influence extends far beyond the ballot box.
Its power also rests on a network of institutions funded by Belgrade, public-sector jobs and political patronage. For years, there have been allegations of political pressure on voters and employees whose livelihoods depend on these structures.
A new government in Belgrade could fundamentally reshape this system by ending Srpska Lista’s privileged access to funding, appointments and political influence — without cutting financial support for Kosovo Serbs or changing Serbia’s position on Kosovo’s independence.
This would be far more than a break with a political ally. It could undermine the very system through which Vučić has exercised influence over Kosovo Serbs for years.
Gašić is an influential Kosovo Serb voice within the Student List. A university lecturer in North Mitrovica and parliamentary candidate, he has previously outlined the movement’s approach to Kosovo.
Whether his position will become official government policy — and how far a new government would go in implementing it — remains to be seen. But his statement signals a potentially profound change in the relationship between Belgrade and the Kosovo Serbs.

I have 2 friends with covid right now both feel like death, as if they’ve been run over by a bus and had no idea it was so prevalent right now. Why the cover up? Just makes the spread worse! 😠😡🤬

Fulfilling one of TISZA’s key promises, we will make the secret police files from the socialist dictatorship public on 4 November.
This will be a difficult and sensitive issue for many families, but without confronting the past, there can be no genuine political change.

Yeah all us mothers with cardiac damage from Covid just need a bit more ‘me time’. These ignorant, arrogant, institutionalised, manipulated, non-thinking doctors can get f*cked.
Cardiologist spots an “alarming trend” of women in their 30’s starting families with palpitations, chest pain, and fatigue while “trying to sludge through their day.”
Cause?
“Having kids and working so much” is “causing all this stress to their heart.”
He says his first reaction is: “to not give them medications,” just 20 minutes of “me time” that is “magical.”
This is exactly how Long Covid gets dismissed.

Multiple hospitals have brought back mask mandates just this week. And last week. And the week before that. There have been school closures due to COVID, too. Harassing people who choose to live in reality and to mitigate the harm of COVID is pathetic behaviour.
I mean this with sincere compassion:
What you are experiencing is likely medical OCD. You’ve been traumatized over several years and the result is now a maladaptive behavior. This feels reasonable to you and I understand that. There are entire cohorts of people who are also experiencing medical OCD just like there are cohorts of people with disordered eating. I say this gently, but the vast majority of people are simply existing among the elderly without issue or concern right now. If you want to take some steps towards normalcy and relaxing in public again there are behavioral health pros who specialize in this exact type of issue.

The stand off around Poland’s Constitutional Tribunal is about restoring rule of law to an institution which had been politicised by the populist government which lost power in the election of 2023. Its president repeatedly broke the law by steering politically sensitive cases to hand-picked judges. It failed to pass its own budget,

🇵🇱 For everyone asking what's happening in Poland tonight, here are the key points:
1. The Constitutional Tribunal's leadership has been challenged.
Judge Anna Korwin-Piotrowska issued orders suspending Tribunal President Bogdan Święczkowski and Vice-President Bartłomiej Sochański from their duties for one month. She claims authority to take over the Tribunal's leadership as its most senior judge.
2. Why did she do this?
Korwin-Piotrowska accuses the existing leadership of obstructing the work of judges elected by the current parliamentary majority, violating judicial procedures and preventing the proper functioning of the Tribunal. She also raised concerns about the court's 2027 budget.
3. The Tribunal rejects the orders.
Its existing leadership says the official website was illegally taken over and insists that Święczkowski remains president. The legality of Korwin-Piotrowska's decisions is disputed.
4. Police entered the building.
Following the announcement, demonstrators gathered outside the Tribunal. Tensions escalated, with some people reportedly climbing over the fence and throwing objects at police officers. Police intervened and several people were detained.
5. Why is this Tribunal so important?
The Constitutional Tribunal determines whether laws and other legal acts comply with Poland's Constitution. Its decisions can affect legislation, government actions and the country's entire legal system. Control over its leadership therefore has major constitutional and political significance.
6. This conflict has been building for months.
Prime Minister Donald Tusk's government and President Karol Nawrocki have been locked in a dispute over the Tribunal's composition. Nawrocki refused to swear in three judges elected by parliament, while the Tribunal's existing leadership refused to allow judges appointed by the current parliamentary majority to take their seats.
Tusk's government does not recognise the Tribunal's legitimacy and has refused to publish some of its rulings, citing controversial judicial appointments made under the previous PiS government.
7. Political reactions are escalating.
PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński called on President Nawrocki to intervene, accusing Tusk's government of turning Poland into a police state. Nawrocki cancelled his trip to Senegal and announced that he is returning to Poland.
Tusk, meanwhile, says restoring the rule of law is a difficult but necessary process.
The situation is still developing. Both sides dispute the legality of the actions taken, and the legal authority behind the latest orders remains unresolved.
Poland is now facing one of its most serious institutional confrontations in recent years. What happens next will depend on whether the two sides can resolve this dispute through legal and constitutional channels or whether the standoff escalates further. For now, Warsaw remains at the centre of a crisis that could have far-reaching consequences for the country's institutions and political future.
