Every time you catch COVID-19, your risk of other severe issues starts to rise. Research is starting to show that with reinfection, your chance of serious issues such as diabetes, mental health issues, and chronic fatigue goes up.

And let's remember, the "vulnerable" includes anyone who has had covid.

I’ve seen multiple news articles and anecdotes depicting people 10-30 being diagnosed with dementia after multiple COVID infections, but you do you, I guess. Can’t live in fear of something you won’t remember anyways.
How the fuck are people still wearing masks? At what point do you take a look around and realize how insanely stupid you are behaving?

This is absolutely appalling @StanfordMed. You have absolutely no understanding of the difficulties these patients navigated to be able to participate in this study, and to put them at further risk is not only harmful but also unscientific. This is a shame on your profession.

"Do no harm." I am disgusted by the medical professionals and institutions colluding in pretending the pandemic is over.
The medical center has reinstated a temporary mask mandate after more than a dozen hospital workers and patients at the medical center tested positive for the coronavirus this week, officials confirmed. trib.al/3TiWNj7

👋I’m back. And I wrote about the current wave of attempts to downplay long COVID—less outright denial & more "it’s real but no big deal". Except: it very much is. It’s a substantial and ongoing crisis that still demands our attention. 1/ theatlantic.com/health/archi…

COVID caused NYers' life expectancy to drop *4.6 years.* It was much worse for residents of color. White residents lost three years. Blacks: *five years.* Hispanic NYers: *six years* And all of that is on top of the preexisting disparities nytimes.com/2023/04/07/nyreg… 👇🏻

Wow: Tennessee state Rep. Justin Jones, one of the Dems that the GOP is trying to expel from state legislature to protesting gun violence, calls out his colleagues on the floor ‘For years, one of your colleagues, an admitted child molester, sat in this chamber – no expulsion’

No one should catch COVID in a healthcare facility. This is unacceptable and puts yet another burden upon those who are disabled, immunocompromised and vulnerable, who have already borne an extraordinary cost over the last 3 years. Please join me in signing this petition.
As states throughout the U.S. begin to discontinue mandatory #masking in healthcare facilities, they place the most vulnerable populations at enormous risk, in the very places and by the very people, they go to for help. We are urging each State Department of Health, State Health Commissioner, and Governor to maintain or reimplement orders keeping masking mandatory in healthcare facilities. Sign the petition here: bit.ly/hcfmasking #LongCovid #chronicillness #Disability #FBLC #MaskUp #MedTwitter

Since we've been looking for more things to do, @emilymbender @mmitchell_ai @mcmillan_majora and I wrote a statement about the horrible "letter" on the AI apocalypse, the very first citation of which, was our #StochasticParrots paper. dair-institute.org/blog/lett…

For over a year, the province has been overtly nudging the public toward accepting mass infection and disregarding increasing debility and death. They do this by leveraging the public's belief in the myth of government protection. 🧵

NEW: I’m not sure people fully appreciate how dire the US life expectancy / mortality situation has got. My column: enterprise-sharing.ft.com/re… And some utterly damning charts. 1) at *every* point on the income distribution, Americans live shorter lives than the English.

THREAD. This week, I was in Los Angeles and Houston for two major civil rights cases. Each case raises a question that one would think is no longer relevant to our civilization: can a person be put in a cage solely because they cannot make a cash payment? A few thoughts:
