I had the rare opportunity to attend a printmaking workshop held by @stephencrotts and ink his print of Jesus washing the disciples feet. The last time I made a print was with my mother, Roswith, a skilled lino-cut artist. I was unprepared for how the smell of the ink, the press of the paper, the wonder of lifting the finished art to life brought me back to that childhood remembrance. All of Stephen's artwork is stunning, but the power of this particular piece rests in its simplicity: the tender hands, the worn feet, the cleansing water. I couldn't stop looking at it all day.
