Tens of thousands of people go vote, but don't fill out their entire ballots. We often call these "undervotes".
In the 9/9 RI Democratic Primary, the following offices were decided by a margin thinner than the number of people who simply didn't bother to fill out that row.

Horrible. We need real campaign finance reform to prevent out of state billionaires from buying our elections and defeating democracy. Support candidates who reject money from these oligarchs!

When the Providence City Council returns in September, I will introduce an ordinance to get Flock out of Providence. And when I am Lt. Governor, I will support Statewide bans.
I applaud the 7 communities around the State who have already said ‘No!’ to Flock already.

Rhode Islanders: Can someone explain the pitch for Kim Ahern? As a prosecutor a judge found her “sloppy, misguided, and cavalier.” She’s been a key member of McKee’s exhaustively incompetent administration. Then she chaired the Cannabis Commission, which has been straight up corrupt. And as a landlord she violated the laws that protections from lead poisoning that the AG is charged with enforcing. How is this not an absolute train wreck waiting to happen?

Ahearn should take this down, it’s brazenly dishonest to voters as presented. It’s a ceremonial plaque, and constructing a paid ad like this is really misleading in a political context. What @AhernForAG is doing is wrong, because it’s wrong to mislead voters.

The Dems are calling for body cams! Hilarious! I live in Rhode Island. Body cams don’t help, because they’re controlled by the men who shoot people.

🧵1/ Before I unpack @PVDMayor’s statement and explain how we reached this point in the 8-Law saga, I’m asking you to share this thread. I’m relieved that the 8-Law “reform” bill (S 963 / H 5688) didn’t make it out of the Senate Housing and Municipal Government Committee. What’s been unfolding isn’t just troubling, especially while we’re considering higher taxes on homeowners, it’s also been layered with confusion. In many ways, that confusion feels intentional.
My goal is to walk you through it clearly and honestly. Stay with me.
Mayor Brett Smiley spox, Josh Estrella, says the city is “disappointed” after the 8-Law reform bill was held for further study tonight.
