SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY SUPPORTERS’ TRUST - MEMBERS’ BALLOT RESULT The Sheffield Wednesday Supporters’ Trust can confirm the outcome of its recent members’ consultation ballot regarding the invitation extended to James Silverwood to join the Sheffield Wednesday FC Board in an unpaid, non-executive capacity. Members were asked whether they supported James accepting the invitation to join the Club Board. A total of 1,300 valid votes were cast, with the result as follows: YES – 91.5% (1,189 votes) NO – 8.5% (111 votes) The ballot was conducted using OpaVote, an independent online voting platform, with the results independently verified. This provided a secure voting process, separate from the Trust’s own systems, with votes counted electronically. In the interests of openness and transparency, we have published the official OpaVote results directly to everyone who participated in the ballot, allowing members to view the results independently. The result represents an overwhelming endorsement from those members who voted and provides James with a clear indication of their views as he considers the invitation. We would like to thank every member who took the time to participate in this important consultation. The Trust remains committed to representing its members, maintaining its independence and working constructively to help build a better future for Sheffield Wednesday. #SWFC

Absolutely the right decision. We owe Henrik thanks for the dignity with which he brought us through the past year. He is obviously a good man who deserved a try with a competitive squad. But this could not have gone on any longer
Sheffield Wednesday Football Club confirms that Henrik Pedersen has left the club with immediate effect. Henrik led the first team through an exceptional period in the club's history, providing stability and leadership during a time of significant uncertainty and change. The club would like to place on record its sincere thanks to Henrik for his contribution and wishes him every success in the future. Sporting Director Simon Wilson said: “First and foremost, I want to thank Henrik for his professionalism, commitment and contribution during an exceptionally challenging period for Sheffield Wednesday. “We knew the start of this season would be difficult due to the scale of change across the club, but our expectation was always that we would develop as the season progressed, establishing a recognisable style of play and greater consistency in our performances. “Although we have accumulated points, we haven’t seen enough progress in those areas. We believe making a change now gives us the best opportunity to establish those foundations and build towards the second half of the season and beyond. “We remain ambitious about what we can achieve this campaign, and our focus remains on building a Sheffield Wednesday team with a clear identity, capable of delivering sustained improvement and long-term success.” Matt Hamshaw will take interim charge of the first team while the club undertakes the process of appointing its next Head Coach. The club will provide further updates when appropriate.

This is all 💯 true
Now it’s out in the Trust newsletter that Otto Brookes has stood down from the Board, I wanted to say a little bit about his time with the Trust and how, somewhere along the way, we became very close pals. I worked incredibly closely with Otto during probably the most intense period the Trust has ever experienced. I genuinely dread to think how many WhatsApps we exchanged, certainly enough that our respective partners probably deserve some form of compensation. Otto was one of the real brains behind so many of our successful protests. When protests were being organised, he was speaking to supporters’ groups and staff at other clubs ahead of away games, working through the logistics and helping make sure things actually happened rather than just being talked about. He played a huge part in Wrexham’s reversal of the suppression of our protest and the subsequent donation which helped fund further protests, with money ultimately also being donated to assist the club through its financial hardship. His research was phenomenal. He spent countless hours digging into our previous ownership and those linked with potentially taking the club forward, producing detailed dossiers which ultimately found their way to the EFL and the Independent Football Regulator. And then there was the infamous DC blimp. That particular piece of protest insanity was Otto’s brainchild. Plans were made. Quotes were obtained. Logistics were discussed. Thankfully, events overtook us and Hillsborough was spared the sight of it floating through the skies. 😂 If there was something that might help the cause, however serious, complicated or occasionally completely bonkers, he’d explore it properly. He always flew under the radar and never seemed particularly bothered about people knowing what he was doing. But we knew. I saw the hours he put in, the work he produced and how much he cared about helping protect our football club. I’m immensely proud of what our fans achieved together and very lucky that somewhere amongst the thousands of WhatsApps, protests, dossiers and plans for airborne inflatables, I gained a proper mate. Enjoy your new real job, mate. Wednesday owes you more than most people will ever realise. 💙🤍 #SWFC

Genuine question @VeoliaUK @sccstreetsahead. Local recycling centres won’t accept empty gas canisters and say to return them to where they were purchased. It was Amazon. What are our options other than black bin or fly tipping?

When I first got involved in pushing for change at Sheffield Wednesday, becoming Vice Chair of the Trust wasn’t something that ever crossed my mind. Like many, I just wanted to play my part in helping rid the club of an incompetent owner. It’s been some journey. What matters is continuing the work and the transition into positive community impact. If I receive a message, I’ll do my best to reply. If there’s a question regarding the Trust, please ask it. If I know the answer, I’ll tell you. If I don’t, I’ll tell you that as well. If it’s something I can’t discuss, I’ll be honest about that too. I’ll continue to follow back as many as I can so people can drop a DM if there’s something they want to raise, or an idea. People often talk about finding a voice for the fans. I’ve never really seen it that way. The Trust shouldn’t be about a handful of people speaking for supporters. It should be about making sure every supporter has the opportunity to be heard. As we’ve said in the latest member update, we’re looking at more ways for members to engage with us, challenge us and help shape what we do. We’re here to listen, be accessible and I’ll give my all to help make sure members’ views are heard. The Trust has achieved some incredible things thanks to a lot of volunteers putting in a lot of hours, and thousands of Wednesdayites pulling in the same direction. I’m proud to be part of that. Plenty done. Plenty still to do. It’s a great time to become part of the Trust if you’d like to join, please follow the below link. swfctrust.co.uk/join-us/ WAWAW 🦉 #SWFC

Further to Blair. Literally every honest sensible person in all the main parties privately agrees with all these propositions: - welfare spending is too high and is throwing good people on the scrapheap - defence spending is too low - the triple lock is unsustainable - without cheap energy we cannot exploit the AI revolution - we should be investing in EVERY form of energy: renewables, nuclear and the North Sea - migration needs to be controlled to boost social cohesion and because the boats look like a huge failure of the state - any new relationship with the EU will be imposed on us until we are stronger and cannot involve the closeness some desire without freedom of movement - we are deeply embedded with America in ways which the public does not understand and cannot be told and however joyous it makes us feel to hate Trump, disengagement at the deep state level is not only wholly unrealistic but also undesirable - Whitehall needs a total overhaul so specific project expertise and political appointees can be brought in quickly Blair basically says all that. The one thing he doesn’t say and which the same group of people agree on is this and it’s something Blair left behind: - judges and quangos have too much power, are unaccountable and without redressing the balance in favour of parliament it is very difficult to do anything big fast - the bare minimum that needs to change in this regard is to reform judicial review and planning law so we can put building and economic growth ahead of newts and NIMBYs None of that above really ought to be up for discussion. It is all common sense but not one of our politicians will publicly say all of it Whatever you think of Blair, engage with what he’s saying not how he makes you feel. The bare minimum we should expect from any leader is that they have an analysis of the current situation and a plan to deal with it which is as coherent and realistic as his intervention. Pretty well every critique I’ve read so far has failed to meet this requirement. Over to Andy and Keir and Kemi and Nigel and Zack and all the others

Really feeling the blues today sat on my flight back to Chicago after one of the best days of my life on Saturday. Wishing we could do it all over again. I’ll never forget the welcome you, the fans, gave to me and my family. Getting to meet so many of you was so much fun. After a long and tough process, I want to thank my dad and business partner @storchyowl for believing in this and finding a way. When many could not see a path forward, he kept pushing us all to find it. We had some great meetings with David Bruce and Henrik this week and there really is just so much to do but I’m incredibly energized. This is going to be an awesome journey. I’ll be back soon! #uto #wawaw

Struggling to fully process yesterday. It was a day for everyone who has ever supported #swfc. 50 games a season or 1, boycotted or didn’t, young and old. So many people enabled us to get our club back, some whose names you’ll know, many more who volunteered in the background 1/6

The Trust’s community sub-group is planning its first litter pick around the stadium. This week I need to liaise with our insurers so they can do that. These are the sort of mundane but vital tasks I see myself doing for the Trust in the future 6/ENDS
