We should make all of our elected representatives wear GPS tracking, biometric recording, wearable devices at all times. They should also only be paid the federal minimum wage. They should also be forced to retire at age 60. I'd also like them to have monthly polygraphs
All of the flooding in the southwest has me feeling super thankful to not have kids. The next 80 years are going to be so brutal.
"FEMALE PILOT" in all caps. Fuck these pos pages that are using live audio of someone just before their death to farm hate against women for clicks. You're actually so subhuman its insane.

This Learjet crash sure looks like an icing situation. They were at 37,000 feet over a thunderstorm and suddenly started descending. There's a transcript of ATC calls that mentions the icing.
Ice accumulation is faster on tightly curved surfaces. The tailplane is basically small wings, which means tighter curves, so ice accumulates on the elevator at the back. The ice makes it less effective, you have to apply greater control deflection to keep the nose up, and then you run out of control authority, or push it too far and stall the tail. The nose pitches down and you pick up speed, exceeding limits of the aircraft. The horizontal stabilizer may have been torn off during descent, it would have an IAS of over 400KIAS at this point. That's over the 340KIAS limit. Mach number would be about 0.88, and when you factor in turbulence the stress on the airframe is even worse.
So, I expect the horizontal stabilizer didn't come off until the overspeed condition.

What's funny to me is that "yes" is intrinsicly a belief in the free market! You can't espouse "the free market" and be against this at the same time, it's ideologically inconsistent.

"I don't understand why they're pushing AI so hard when we can all see it's making everything worse."
That's because it's not being marketed to you; it's being marketed to governments and plutocrats. They're the real target audience for these products, not you.
You are not receiving the real sales pitch for AI, because the real sales pitch would not appeal to your sensibilities. The real sales pitch for AI isn't "Hey check out this product, it makes some web searches slightly easier and it can maybe write your emails for you." The real sales pitch for AI is "This product allows you to surveil the entire population of your country. It can be built into autonomous surveillance drones and killing machines. It can allow you to monitor and control every aspect of your society. It can reverse the decentralization of information brought on by the internet age. It can take away the collective bargaining power of workers and give you the skilled services your company requires. It can nullify strikes, civil disobedience, and even full-scale revolutions, and lock humanity into your capitalist dystopia forever."
That's the real sales pitch. It doesn't sound appealing to any normal person, but it makes sense when you remember who these technologies are really being sold to, and why.
Just found out one of my moots is a liberal. I found out in the process of trying to get a distraction from Sir Patrick Stewart departure from this mortal coil.
