The problem with "doing your own research" is that most of us aren't trained to do research. Truth depends on the right research process & untrained people connecting a few coincidental dots through Google & then having it confirmed by other untrained people isn't it.

In honor of Juneteenth, a brief story about the America that almost was. I was at the Federal Archives once, searching for a very different document, when I came across a stack of papers titled "Joint Resolutions Proposing Amendments to the Constitution of the United States."

We shouldn't say everyone's invited if we're going to act like they're not welcome when they come.

I’d like to help some folks understand microagression. If you’ve experienced it, please add it. I guess I’ll start (so hard to choose just one): “You speak well. I don’t hear an accent.”
THIS WAS ON A FRIEND’S PAGE: An anguished question from a Trump supporter: ‘Why do liberals think Trump supporters are stupid?’ THE SERIOUS ANSWER: Here’s what the majority of anti-Trump voters honestly feel about Trump supporters en masse: @realDonaldTrump

If all you do is feed yourself news, news radio, social media, blogs, etc you will shrivel and die. It will be a slow death. Slowly affections change. Slowly disregarding the things of God. Abide in Jesus. We can't do this without him. He is the bread of life. He is the vine

The culture has redefined righteous anger because the church has failed to show them what it looks like.

There are many things I’m afraid of in this moment and the weeks to come. 1. That people would celebrate an early victory against racism because the cops involved in the George Floyd case are found guilty. The point isn’t to find police guilty, it’s to prevent needless death.

Here’s what Jesus did NOT say: Care for the sick, if it makes a profit. Welcome the stranger, if they have the money. Feed the hungry, who earns the food you’re giving. Love your neighbor, when it’s good for your economy. 👆🏽 – at Dorado, Puerto Rico

My wife often cautions me against going out at night because she knows that when some people see me out at night, they don’t see a presbyterian pastor or a PhD in systematic theology. All they can see is a threat. 😢 #AhmaudArbery
