This may be hitting late, but stonewalling affable Wichita news guy who is asking a Q anyone can answer isn’t a good look.
BTW, for my far, far less lucrative gig at a Kansas public university, I work about 5-6 hours/week… and a lot of people see me there!
🚩 Ty Masterson wants to run Kansas, but struggled to answer a basic question about his own job from KAKE News: How many hours a week did you work?
He repeated “full time,” compared his pay to the reporter’s, then attacked the journalism.
Here’s what’s documented:
💰 WSU’s FY2027 budget lists his GoCreate position at $241,781 annually.
📧 The Kansas City Star reported 14 outgoing university emails over four months, compared with 532 from the assistant director. More than 17 of the 26 pages released were blank or completely redacted.
🧾 The Star reported he collected more than $1.1 million over roughly a
❓That doesn’t explain the Star’s account that Assistant Director Kimberly McCollum introduced herself as “the director here.”
💰GoCreate receives Koch support. Koch-funded Americans for Prosperity is also backing Masterson for governor with $10M+ in Koch support. Those connections make transparency especially important.
📢 If Masterson thinks this is an “easy debunk,” he should provide the records. Kansans deserve accountability from someone asking to be governor.

OBAMA: The president wasn't even mad. About The Saddam Hussein comparison. That part didn't bother him. But he was very upset about The Cheesecake Factory. He took great umbrage. He said I didn't understand the work of the artisans in the White House.
They mobilized a whole of government response to that joke. Not to inflation, but to that joke.
