Thrilled that @PanCAN awarded 12 new grants in 2026 - keeping our promise to learn from every patient that participated in our Precision Promise clinical trial & providing critical bridge funding in the midst of federal funding uncertainties. Very proud! 💜
As part of our commitment to accelerate breakthrough research through the All Together We Can campaign, PanCAN announces nearly $3 million in grants that support cutting-edge science and fill critical gaps in the pancreatic cancer funding landscape. 🔬
The four Catalyst Research Awards, totaling nearly $2 million, are aimed at harnessing the power of tumor tissue, blood samples and patient data to accelerate the development of new treatments for patients with metastatic pancreatic cancer. This unparalleled resource — collected from participants in the PanCAN Precision Promise adaptive clinical trial platform — fills a critical gap in the research landscape. We’re providing researchers the materials they need to identify biomarkers of treatment response and resistance that can be targeted for more effective therapies. The goal is to drive discovery, inform trial design and bring us closer to a future where precision medicine is a reality for every person faced with this disease.
Data generated from the awards will be integrated into PanCAN’s SPARK Research Data Platform and made available for future use by the pancreatic cancer research community, multiplying the value of these projects.
Our eight Research Recovery Grants, totaling $1 million, fill the gap to rescue science that was otherwise going to go unfunded due to federal funding uncertainties. We are strategically targeting a breadth of topics and scientists at various career stages.
These grants support researchers as the field reaches a critical turning point: With more RAS-targeting therapies in the pipeline than ever before, our goal is to keep the momentum we need to deliver breakthroughs as soon as possible for patients and families facing this disease.

We are pleased to announce @Aiims1742 Maitra, MD, from @NYUGrossman School of Medicine, as a 2026 PanCAN grant recipient, made possible by generous support from PanCAN donors. 🔬
Dr. Maitra will lead a research project titled "Suppression of IL-1beta and PD-1 in advanced pancreatic cancer patients." This grant is in memory of Skip Viragh.

Don’t worry, Ohio State fans. Keep your chin up. It’s almost impossible to go undefeated and win a National Championship in the CFP era.
Almost impossible.
Almost.
I went looking for proof Western Michigan got robbed.
Unfortunately, I’m now somewhat confident Michigan deserved the extra play 😭
Used Astra to sync two camera angles, check the visible stadium-clock ticks, and examine the first touch frame by frame.
Both possible frames when the ball was first touched leave time remaining. Even using the latest possible frame & shifting the sync one frame against Michigan leaves about 0.03 seconds on the clock..
Don't hate me for this, it hurts me as much as you 🥲

RASONQUE™ (daraxonrasib) is approved for the treatment of adults with metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma who have received at least one prior systemic therapy or are not candidates for multiagent systemic therapy. This is now considered the new standard of care for patients with previously treated metastatic pancreatic cancer after clinical trial results in this population showed a doubling of survival compared to chemotherapy as well as improved quality of life for patients.
Visit 🔗 pancan.org/news/fda-approves… to learn more about RASONQUE™, including what this FDA approval means, the survival benefit for people with pancreatic cancer, potential side effects, insurance coverage and how PanCAN Patient Services can help. 💜

I'm sorry we never got a chance to meet, but getting this note from Dolly really had a an impact on me. She definitely didn't have to take the time to do it. Even for a kid who mostly listened to rap music, she was an icon. A superstar in every sense. Rest easy Dolly. And thank you for the kind words.

Pancreatic cancer research just had a breakthrough moment. KRAS-targeting drugs and mRNA vaccines are extending survival in ways we haven't seen in decades. The @Perlmutter_CC is already running trials to bring these advances to patients.

Yes we are!!!
New pod: WE'RE GOING TO WIN THE WAR ON PANCREATIC CANCER
This most lethal cancer evades treatment for at least 3 reasons:
1. Key gene mutation (KRAS) is hard to drug
2. Weak T cell response
3. Doctors can't see it on scans until it's too late
We're solving all 3—or, at least, making strong progress along all three fronts, and all the following news just broke in the last few weeks:
1. A new breakthru drug therapy from RevMed seems to target RAS mutations effectively
2. New research shows that personalized mRNA cancer vaccines (made and administered post-surgery) seem to prolong survival among responders in a limited study
3. Last week, the Mayo Clinic announced the results of their own study showing that AI-assisted radiology can find previously invisible microscopic signs of pancreatic cancer up to 3 years before typical diagnosis
Today, I spoke to the head of the Mayo study on AI, radiology, and why he thinks we're 5-10 years away from turning the corner on pancreatic cancer
Most optimistic show we've done in months!

Now we’re talking!!!
A Mayo Clinic-developed artificial intelligence (AI) model can help specialists detect pancreatic cancer on routine abdominal CT scans up to three years before clinical diagnosis. It identifies subtle signs of disease before tumors are visible, when curative treatment may still be possible. The findings, published in Gut, mark a milestone in Mayo Clinic's multiyear research effort to enable earlier detection of one of the deadliest cancers.
