There are a number of computational primitives one can implement with oscillator-based computers, e.g. solving combinatorial optimization problems, and associative memory. Higher dimensional oscillators can also implement the attention, which forms the basis for modern LLMs

In Europe, citizens with 800k in assets are considered 'super rich'.
JUST IN: ITALY EXIT TAX 🇮🇹 Italy proposes a 26% exit tax on unrealized investment gains for people leaving the country from 2027. It’d apply to those with €800k+ in relevant assets who were tax residents for at least 6 of the last 10 years. I've been warning you: European countries are bankrupt and will try to seize your assets. The exit is closing.

I used Divyansh's approach to build an entire Nintendo into ~1GB of Qwen3.5 weights. Qwenputer, meet Nesformer: github.com/dbreunig/nesforme…

A latching level shifter: with high dv/dt immunity on the output FET (M11). The circuit can be used in the output stage of a zero quiescent power dissipation (switches only on input edges) MOSFET gate driver and since it's latching, provides high dv/dt immunity.

Does it matter where you tap a current shunt? Let's simulate the 0.5 mΩ shunt moteus-x1 uses, with 10 A through it. Sense traces from the middle of the pads' inner edges read 10.1 A. 2 mm out, they read 14.1 A. A 4-terminal shunt reads right on every board I simulated. 🧵

Teaching ASI game theory is the first step towards human extermination, not because the ASI will be evil, but because GT is flawed
I joined @GoogleDeepMind to develop a research program on the economics of AGI. Today, together with Andrew Koh (@andrewjkoh) and Shane Legg (@ShaneLegg), we are incredibly excited to release The Economics of Intelligence, the first in a series of projects from our group on how AGI will change the economy. How do capability improvements transform the economy, and when? In this project, we define thresholds of economic capabilities, e.g., minimal AGI, based on how they transform the economy. We then track how the economy–market structure, employment, and wages–changes during the transition across capability regimes. We have seen exponential increases in what AI agents can do but the broader economy seems almost remarkably unchanged. Part of the reason is that the solo AI agent is the wrong economic object; economic transformation is an equilibrium outcome where organizations compete. Looking at how intelligence functions within organizations, transformation will depend on when two key capability thresholds are crossed: competence (gains on individual skills, e.g., coding, math) and coordination (gains on ability of agents to cooperate and work together). We show that what economic transformation looks like depends on whether AI becomes supercompetent, supercooperative, or both—the regime of artificial superintelligence (ASI). Tracking this transition shows why the real visible transformation may come from improvements in coordination—a capability most benchmarks don’t yet track. Past a certain threshold, AI capabilities can break the Coasian ceiling on firm size and lead to an economy that looks drastically different than the one we see today. Two main takeaways: 1. To understand the path of transformation, we should be tracking agentic coordination more closely. 2. The impact of AI will likely show up in wages before market structure or employment. We are really excited about this paper. Excited to hear people’s thoughts. Link: institute.deepmind.com/essay…

Austria has been a Member State putting in doubt the whole process to get EU Inc done through some treaty interpretation. This type of comment is often considered a procedural approach to derail an upcoming law, like EU Inc. It's interesting because when contacted by some Austrians, the Ministry of Justice of Austria denied it.. now we see this.. 6/9

The RWE-Bench leaderboard is live now. We scored 11 frontier models on 20 real physical engineering tasks, everything from designing engine components to routing circuit boards to simulating the flow through turbine vanes. Physics solvers check every design against the strict requirements set by our engineers. A run only passes if it meets every single one of them. GPT-6 Astra leads at 37%.

There’s a fab-shaped gap in Europe’s AI strategy. ASML builds the crown jewel of the chip supply chain, but Europe can't use it. America and Taiwan get all the upside. To fill the gap, we should build an RSI-ready R&D fab on European soil: Eurofab. writing.antonleicht.me/p/eur…

You can tell Claude has a mother but no father
Daniela Amodei reveals the woman who trains Claude's character has a PhD in philosophy, not AI or ML "It's unusual, right? You would think, oh, the person that's training the character of these models must be a computer scientist or somebody who's studied ML or AI for many decades." "Amanda's technical and she technically trains the model, but I think it is very felt in Claude's character when you communicate with it that there's this kind of experience, something that's very wise, kind of the best version of the better angel of your nature trying to answer your questions." "But if you kind of poke Claude in these difficult areas where maybe different philosophical traditions might conflict, I think that's where you especially feel Amanda because you'll sort of see like, 'oh well, you might want to consider things from this point of view but you could also consider it from this point of view.'" "I think it's important because as the world begins to rely on these models more and more, you don't want to be locked into one philosophical tradition because ethics and morality are quite complicated, and different people and different cultures might have different answers about how they would like you to behave.”

Neurotech is Humanity’s Next Frontier! I’ve been investing in neurotech since 2021 and working with teams building BCIs, NeuroAI, and connectomics. It now feels like AI did in ~2019. We are entering an extraordinary era: neurotech already restores functions, it can enhance our capabilities, and will evolve what it means to be human. PLC Neurotech is the fund backing the extraordinary founders and defining companies of this booming industry.
