Hoping to find some help here making a decision about travel plans for the weekend. Supposed to drive from St. Paul through Chicago to central IN on Saturday. Should we wait until Sunday or will that be more of the same? @svensundgaard @NWSChicago @NWSTwinCities
I’m not currently in the classroom and have a strong feeling about giving “fellow educator” sounding advice to folks who are, so I’ll speak as a mother instead: could we please consider getting rid of the “sing in the front of the class for a lost pencil” thing? [1/4]
I’m all for teaching “responsibility” (though I dislike how that’s defined by most [white] folks), but the threat of shame can’t be the only way. Maybe I’m off base here and I’m open to other viewpoints or experiences, but I’m struggling with it. [the end]
I feel like the state of Indiana really ought to be seizing corn’s meteoric rise to fame, seeing as how the state is just one oversized corn cob, 🤷🏼♀️

My social media time has become mostly business-focused on Insta, and I desperately miss the community here.
Also, here’s a puppy I got while I was offline.
Yesterday was the last day of my last semester working in higher Ed. I’m feeling all the feels, but mostly just deep relief. I have some loose ends to tie up, but I already feel lighter. What a bittersweet feeling.

Just an observation from my corner of the world: the conservatives who were raising HELL a few weeks ago about a proposed conversion therapy ban in my hometown and screaming “parents ought to have the right to choose treatment for their children” are awfully quiet this week.
