Watch the bait-and-switch:
A) When the Bible is used to advance a “conservative” cause, it’s “evil Christian Nationalism” (that he’s spent his entire campaign decrying) or it’s “forcing your religion on other people” and must be FORECEFULLY DENOUNCED.
But when the Bible is used to advance a progressive cause, aw shucks it’s just me being Christlike, “speaking truth to power”, and seeking “justice” or “compassion.”
His whole campaign is, ”Christian Nationalism for ME, but not for THEE” and hoping you won’t notice.
B) What progressives do is take the commands Jesus gave to INDIVIDUALS and apply them to the GOVERNMENT.
When Christians use words like “caring” or “generous” they mean caring for people and being generous with their own resources.
When progressives use the words “caring” and “generous”, they mean “vote for the government to forcibly take OTHER PEOPLE’S RESOURCES at gunpoint and redistribute it against their will.”
Of course, this *always* backfires because governments do not work like people and churches, so with governments you tends to get more of what you INCENTIVIZE and less of what you PENALIZE.
This is why cities and states that throw billions of $ at “solving homelessness” end up with MORE HOMELESSNESS, they do not “solve homelessness.”
This is a theology-nerd thing, but in general progressives want the government to do the roles of the church and individual (charity, compassion, care), and they want NOBODY to do the role of the State (administer justice and be a “terror to the wrongdoer”).
^^^this always results in societal chaos and darkness.
Further…
What Talarico (and other progressives) always do is selevtively edit Jesus, so that he becomes a mascot for their cause.
I can do a “when Jesus…” list too, but James won’t like mine…
- When Jesus defined marriage, he defined it as only between a man and a woman
- When Jesus talked about gender, he rooted it in biology, saying “he made them male and female”
- When Jesus talked about harming children (abortion), he said it would be better for you to have millstone tied around your neck and be cast into the ocean
- … that time when Jesus encouraged his followers to buy weapons for self-defense (Luke 22:36)
- Jesus’ family strictly obeyed the government’s border / migration / census laws.
- When Jesus talked about salvation, he said belief in him was the ONLY WAY
- When Jesus healed the sick, he didn’t need a deductible… there were no insurance companies in AD 30, and Jesus was using miraculous power, not paying doctors. This would be like an anti-vaxxer saying “JESUS WASNT VACCINATED!” as justification for their position)
- When Jesus fed the hungry, he FED THE HUNGRY. He did not vote for the government to forcibly take other people’s stuff at gunpoint and redistribute it against their will.
I could go on and on and on and on…
The point is, Jesus is a LORD of the universe, not a MASCOT for your cause.
Pulling your son around in a wagon with him dressed up as an injured Caleb Williams and giving everyone a big thumbs up is definitely going to be *the* costume idea for Vikings fans this year.

I have conducted an audit of Anthropic's finances.
What I have found is so shocking that I am calling for a Congressional investigation.
Anthropic is not just seeking regulatory capture.
It has built a regulatory capture machine that cannot be turned off.
Structural financial incentives make it impossible for Anthropic -- I call it the Anthropic Network -- to turn off its own AI doom cycle.
It starts with METR.
Dario Amodei proposes "third-party evaluators" to assess the risk of Anthropic's models.
He proposes METR for this purpose.
But METR is financially dependent on the Anthropic's success -- specifically, on the explosive growth of more than $7 billion dollars in Anthropic stock.
Dustin Moskovitz invested this stock into Good Ventures Foundation, where it represents the majority of that organization's portfolio.
And GVF is the overwhelming funder of the entire Anthropic Network ecosystem.
This stock was worth $500 million early last year.
It is worth more than $7.7 billion just ~16 months later.
METR -- and all of those building a career its parent organizations -- cannot afford to disrupt that growth.
Because if Anthropic goes under, many of the organizations that fund METR go under as well.
But if Anthropic succeeds, METR and its parent organizations become more richly financed to regulate AI -- something those at METR want very much.
The "third-party evaluator" is not "third-party" at all.
The evaluator is on Anthropic's payroll.
If this were the end of it, that's bad.
But that isn't all.
The same organizations that fund METR also fund the many organizations, such as the Tarbell Center, that promote AI Doom.
The Tarbell Center publishes AI Doom articles in The Verge, Science, LA Times, The Dispatch, TIME, and others.
They are selling the problem, and then selling the solution to the problem -- from the same money pile: Anthropic's.
All of these organizations are financially dependent on the same exploding $7 billion money pile.
As Anthropic grows more and more powerful, its AI Doom Machine grows better and better financed -- louder and louder.
Meanwhile, the regulatory regime seeded in METR grows larger to solve the increasingly loud -- now hysterical -- problem of AI Doom that the Anthropic Network itself created.
From this standpoint, as Anthropic becomes more powerful, AI might be getting scarier, sure -- but the positive feedback loop also becomes more deafening -- independent of objective facts.
This itself is an objective fact.
The deafening AI Doom is part of an business model, that, as it expands, so too does the AI Doom messaging -- there is simply more money to do it.
But the problem also goes in the other direction:
If Anthropic dies, the Regulatory Regime and the AI Doom Machine are crippled or die.
Neither METR nor Tarbell nor the other organizations in the Anthropic Network can allow that to happen.
Hence, neither METR or the AI Doom Machine can be trusted to provide independent assessments of Anthropic's models or AI more broadly.
They simply are not organizations independent of Anthropic.
And Anthropic cannot detach itself from METR or Tarbell or countless other safety orgs (not shown here), either, because they drive hype for the models and the possibility of eventual regulatory capture, and Anthropic will not give that up willingly.
What's more, the people at all of these organizations are all the same ecosystem, the same community. They just shuffle between organizations.
The Anthropic Network is therefore, so long as it is successful, locked into a self-amplifying feedback loop inside an ideological monoculture.
And that feedback loop is winning.
That's what Jacob Coxon is.
China is keeping messaging tight. That is why optimism for AI is so high in China.
America has Anthropic: a massive company pushing anti-AI propaganda at a state level.
Anthropic will either create hysteria until American AI slows down and China wins, or it will create fractures throughout American society with severe political consequences.
Ironically, because of the structural financial incentives underpinning the Anthropic Network, it has become the same kind of self-amplifying virus that it fantasizes AI to become in the future -- while hiding its tracks just as carefully.
It is the mirror of the same AI virus that it hypothesizes to consume America.
Anthropic's business model, models itself after the very thing it claims to fear.
Except Anthropic's ideology infects humans, not computers.
Congress must investigate.
Evidence and Github in next post.
Then some supplementary figures.
My son's last remaining friend without a phone is getting one, so I'm once again hearing about how he needs one too.
"How would you feel if your friends all got some kind of 'super grill' that could grill any food!"
Jealous. I'd be jealous, son.
Who would win a game -- today -- between the '92 Olympic Dream Team (most of whom are now in their 60s) and a team of WNBA all stars?

It's one thing to hear this as a child, and not being fully able to understand what was on display.
I was nine years old when Clarence Thomas was still a Supreme Court appointee, and this played out on national television.
But watching this clip now at 44 years of age; after a period of hating this man for no other reason except for the race narcissism that had to die within me, I now see Justice Clarence Thomas as a lion of truth, and the ACTUAL hero of these proceedings.
This would eventually become the tawdry template used in Senate SCOTUS appointment hearings whenever an ACTUAL conservative and REAL Constitutionalists were up for confirmation to the highest court in the land.
I've treated Clarence Thomas shamefully over the years, and I repent of that foolishness here and now.
May God bless Justice Clarence Thomas, now and always.
“I would rather die than withdraw.”
In 1991, after H.W. Bush nominated Clarence Thomas to the Supreme Court, a woman claimed that Thomas sexually harassed her as her supervisor at two separate jobs. She was questioned on why she followed Thomas to the second job, after allegedly being harassed at the first.
At the hearing, led by Senate Judiciary Committee chair Joe Biden, Thomas vehemently and completely denied the allegations. He pointed to white liberals attempting to block a black conservative from taking a Supreme Court for having the wrong opinions, calling it a “high-tech lynching for uppity blacks who in any way deign to think for themselves, to do for themselves, to have different ideas, and it is a message that unless you kowtow to an old order, this is what will happen to you.”
The Senate confirmed Thomas to the Supreme Court by a vote of 52-48.
He’s faced the mob before, and he ascended in spite of it. We merely adopted the dark. He was born in it, molded by it. Clarence Thomas is the GOAT and the blueprint.
Rewatching the LOTR for the first time in 20 years, and I gotta say, these hobbits are a total pain in the butt. It's like they brought four toddlers along for a dangerous quest. They touch everything, they won't stop talking, and they're constantly looking for food.
"Gavin, when we told you it's normal for sociopaths like yourself to imitate the emotions of others, we didn't mean you should literally pretend to be Trump."
FOX MUST SUSPEND GARBAGE GREG GUTFELD ASAP!!! NOT ONLY DOES HE NEED A FAKE “LAUGH TRACK,” HE MAKES THINGS UP, IS NOT FUNNY, AND GETS SO EASILY TRIGGERED (LIKE A SNOWFLAKE!) WHEN JESSICA “JUST THE FACTS” TARLOV SPEAKS!!! FOX SHOULD SUSPEND HIM IMMEDIATELY — SEND HIM TO NEWS NATION (NEXTSTAR) WHERE HIS JOKES BELONG WITH THE OTHER FAILURES!!! RATINGS CRASHING, PEOPLE BEGGING FOR IT TO STOP!!! FOX DO THE RIGHT THING OR I WILL MAKE THE FCC “TAKE CARE OF YOU.” FINAL WARNING! — GCN
Me: "Maybe she misspoke and didn't actually mean to say hate speech."
Pam Bondi:
Hate speech that crosses the line into threats of violence is NOT protected by the First Amendment. It’s a crime. For far too long, we’ve watched the radical left normalize threats, call for assassinations, and cheer on political violence. That era is over.
Under 18 U.S.C. § 875(c), it is a federal crime to transmit “any communication containing any threat to kidnap any person or any threat to injure the person of another.” Likewise, 18 U.S.C. § 876 and 18 U.S.C. § 115 make it a felony to threaten public officials, members of Congress, or their families.
You cannot call for someone’s murder. You cannot swat a Member of Congress. You cannot dox a conservative family and think it will be brushed off as “free speech.” These acts are punishable crimes, and every single threat will be met with the full force of the law.
Free speech protects ideas, debate, even dissent but it does NOT and will NEVER protect violence.
It is clear this violent rhetoric is designed to silence others from voicing conservative ideals.
We will never be silenced. Not for our families, not for our freedoms, and never for Charlie. His legacy will not be erased by fear or intimidation.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The US Constitution protects most violent speech.
The Supreme Court ruled it legal to "justify" or celebrate violence or "advocate or teach the duty, necessity, or propriety" of it; but not "incitement" to "imminent" violence (eg telling a mob with weapons to kill someone).

Frank is one of my closest "Twitter friends" and his advice was invaluable when I bought my last car.
If you've ever thought to yourself that buying a car is the absolute worst and you wish you could just pay someone to handle it all, that's what Frank does.
Clothes shopping for 5th grade boys in 2025:
"So it's just a sweatshirt with an ice cream cone and it costs $80?"
It is indeed.
Costco: We’ve designed a ruthlessly efficient, highly profitable warehouse store. People like it so much they actually pay us just to come through the door. We limit choice by carefully selecting the best products, while also knowing exactly what the average homeowner needs. No one else makes it easier to convince a person who stops for a single item to spend $300 only 30 minutes later.
That sounds amazing. And even better, you’re not messing around with food, either.
Costco: 😳 Actually...
But at least you’re not making hot food and pretending to be a restaurant.
Costco: 😳😳
But at least you're making big money on markups.
Costco: Nah man, we sell it at a loss.
So a hotdog and coke is like $8?
Costco: IT'S A BUCK FIFTY!! YOLO!!
Oh FFS. But at least the food court is well-designed just like the rest of the store, right?
Costco: Nope, it's total chaos. Imagine a mosh pit of hungry people holding tickets waiting for their number to be called by the same person making 100 hot dogs simultaneously.
Oh dear.
Costco: And we’re gonna put it right freaking next to the checkouts. It's like 40 people with carts full of toilet paper and soda crammed into a tiny area.
Where they get handed their food and drinks?
Costco: Well...they get a cup. They need to fill it themselves.
But in another area of the store at least.
Costco: Nope, the soda fountain is right frickin' there. It’s checkouts, carts, food pickup, and soda dispensing, all in one place! Also, don't forgot your straw, we don’t actually keep those next to the soda machines. You get those at the hot dog pickup.
Next to the checkout mosh pit?
Costco: Hell yeah.
Unfortunately, I get the impression that going to the theater is on the brink of a death spiral of fewer ticket sales, which triggers higher prices, which results in even fewer sales, and so on.
I understand the argument that snacks are optional, and basically equal the price of the tickets. However, a big part of the mythical appeal of the theater experience includes the popcorn.
