Steven Bartlett asks James Talarico how Texas chases β€œequality” without chasing off figures like @ElonMusk. Talarico’s answer: Musk’s net worth is a β€œspiritual sickness,” and the rich should pay something closer to the 1950s rate of 90%. BARTLETT: β€œWhat would you have done to stop [Elon from becoming a trillionaire]?” TALARICO: β€œWe at one point in this country, we had, I think it was in the 1950s, had a top marginal tax rate of 90%. I don’t think it needs to be that high, but we used to have a political system and an economic system that more fairly distributed the fruits of our labor.” β€œAnd I think the thing that really upsets people, particularly about the Elon example, is that Tesla was successful because of taxpayer dollars, right? Tesla got investment from the federal government, which is why it has been so successful.” CONTEXT: The taxpayer dollars Tesla received were a LOAN from the Department of Energy in 2010. Ford got $5,900,000,000, and Nissan got $1,400,000,000 from the same program. But Tesla did something those automakers hadn’t. It repaid the full $465,000,000 it had borrowed, with interest, 9 years ahead of schedule, becoming the first automaker in the program to pay its loan back in full.

Grok Bot is hands down the most powerful AI agent in the world... and most people still don't know what to do with it. Here are 8 Grok Bot use cases, straight from xAI's own playbooks Steal the one you need: 1. Inbox Manager Reads your email, Slack and DMs read-only. Flags what's urgent, drafts 0 to 5 replies and never sends until you type "send". 2. Calendar EA Flags conflicts, protects your focus time and sends invites only after you confirm. 3. Intel Scout An 8am and 5pm brief: company moves, open follow-ups and prep for your next meetings. Every item ends with one thing to do. 4. Bot Boss The one bot you talk to. It routes work to your other bots and collects their reports. 5. Bug repro Recreates the bug, records a video of the broken state and writes the steps to reproduce it. 6. Refunds Checks every refund request against your policy. A human approves before any money moves. 7. Shipping team An EM bot that writes no code. It breaks the work down and hands it to 5 engineer bots that test their own output. 8. Figma Bro Builds straight from your Figma file through the Figma MCP, with exact measurements instead of guesses. Start with one. Add the rest when it earns its keep.

Neuralink’s first product is called Telepathy. It enables high-speed communication with computers or humans simply by thinking. Output bandwidth will vastly exceed the fastest human speech or typing in a few years. Read that sentence again.
Our engineers recently visited one of our speech restoration study participants for a 72-hour hackathon. The goal: rapidly prototype as many features as possible to enhance the experience of using Neuralink to communicate with thought. Here are some of the things we built 🧡

Be like @poteto 😎 > Grew up in Singapore with no CS background. > Taught herself design as a teen. > Studied finance at Monash. > First program was an Excel VBA macro. > Failed a startup. > Started blogging and tweeting while learning to code. > EmberConf organizers found her tweets. > Invited her to speak in 2015. > She was a nobody in Melbourne. > Shaking through her first talk. > That one talk changed everything. > Landed at DockYard. Moved to the US. > Another talk got her into Netflix. > Built studio tools. Became a tech lead. > Then an engineering manager. > Missed building. Went back to IC work. > Open-sourced hiring-without-whiteboards. > Dan Abramov invited her to React at Meta. > Imposter syndrome. Said yes anyway. > Six years on the @reactjs team. > Sole author of the React Compiler Beta post. > Co-author of React Compiler 1.0. > Burned out. Took time off. > Started building agent tools for herself. > Joined @cursor_ai in 2026. > Taught agents to verify their own work. > That became pstack. > Cursor got acquired into @SpaceXSI. > Rebuilt Grok Bot. > Now ships 2,000–2,500 PRs a month. > Went from 31K to 200K+ followers. > @elonmusk keeps reposting her. She didn’t start with a degree or confidence. She started by writing in public. Every major job came from people finding her posts. Now she’s building Grok Bot and still on the React Compiler core team. She is truly an inspiration. ✨✨

Years from now, people will look back and say Grok Bot was the moment AI actually became useful for normal people. This week, I just texted it and: 1/ My kids woke up to new math and reading worksheets already printed 2/ It planned and booked trips for my family 3/ It ordered stuff for me from one text 4/ It printed my return label for a shoe I own and set a reminder so I don't miss the deadline 5/ It built a page that breaks down my net worth And look at what other people are getting it to do too: 6/ Book a flight from start to finish 7/ Build a website or an Etsy store 8/ Reconcile crypto taxes that would cost hundreds 9/ Book a Tesla tire rotation during school drop-off 10/ Order itself a 3D-printed body and mail the parts home You just text it like a person. I've been early on Tesla. I've been early on SpaceX. I'm telling you, I'm early on this too. This is the greatest thing that has happened to AI.

Of course in real time some folks don’t understand that @nas is our Miles Davis and like Basquiat there ain’t a non-valuable piece he’s ever done. His run of 3+3 albums with hitboy was unprecedented. As with 33 years of his work. Nas is Art and art ain’t hubcaps & fried wings. Yeah @nas is Miles to us

ELON MUSK: β€œIt's going to be pretty wild that you can have a rocket car. The car has attitude control thrusters and main thrusters in the rear, so it can basically fly like a rocket. It could do rolls. It could do crazy gymnastics. Whatever you want, really. This is not necessarily a safety-optimized car, but it takes the fun meter to 11 out of 10. This will be an actual car that’s on the roads. I’m not sure it’s necessarily legal in all jurisdictions. The car can recharge its air tank, so it’s not like you need special propellant or anything like that. It literally is just going to pop itself up and be able to do these maneuvers whenever you’d like.”

Study math. Study math to think. Study until complex systems stop feeling random. Study the mental models behind the formulas. Study for the person who thought they weren't smart enough in school. A simple habit of rigorous thinking will change absolutely everything.
