Anthropic marketing: We built a god only we can control and gave it a “wet lab”
Muse marketing: Heyy girl I know you have dozens of unpaid parking tickets. Let’s get that cleaned up
everyone spent ten years learning to code and it turns out the terminal skill was english composition. the machine will do anything you tell it. the only thing left between you and what you want is whether you can form a clear thought and put it into words
largely agree
Alright apparently people want SF Chinese food takes lol so here goes the long list:
S Tier
Four Kings ($$) – absolute goat right now with S tier service too
J & X Bistro ($$) – new and underrated more trad spot
A Tier
Yuanbao jiaozi ($) – beef noodle soup is better than the dumplings
Palette teahouse ($$) – upscale dragon beaux / koi palace
Hon's Wun-Tun House sunset location ($) – new location has expanded menu of trad canto fare
Mr Jiu’s ($$$) – was great, fell off a bit. still good!
B Tier
Z&Y ($) – best sichuan
Oodle Noodle ($) – good and fun rice noodles. uncommon here
Noodle Panda ($) – it’s just fine as far as hand pulled noodles go, but they’re the only ones who do it in the city!
Overrated spots i'd avoid
China Live ($$) – just terribly mid white food media darling
San Tung ($) – respect og status, but no reason to go here anymore.
Happy Crane ($$) – can’t take them seriously when the chinese character of their logo is mangled af
Empress by Boon ($$$) – only reason to come here is to entertain clients
Any two word dumpling restaurant ($) – some are dece but the whole category is cursed
In general, SF chinese food is not that good! but having lived here 10 years, these are our go-tos! Not counting spots outside of SF. I know the scene is better in south and east bay, but can’t always go out of the city!
Also, inb4 “who are you to...” 老子在三番的美食沙漠熬了十年总的有有点发言权了吧
Also, everyone I trust says Fu Hui Hua is excellent, but I haven’t been yet!

one thing I don't understand about America - fine there are several things - but why are dryers so good at drying laundry here?
in EU the function of a dryer is to take cold wet laundry & turn it into hot wet laundry, but in US it actually comes out ... dry? is it the freedom

she is shocked at how many coworkers / partners have outsourced critical thinking and now copy pasta claude

Daily writing is the new weightlifting.
Back in the day, 90%+ of the population worked manual labor on farms. We didn’t have “gyms” because everyone was breaking their back working all day.
Once we got machines, we needed a new way to keep our body in shape - lifting heavy objects (3 sets of 10), voluntarily, at the gym.
The same thing is happening for writing. Everyone is outsourcing their thinking to AI.
The brain is a muscle, and it will atrophy if you don’t use it.

PMs using AI to write their PRDs and making their teammates read it is straight up disrespectful

Late to the party, but after a couple of 4+ hour road trips and a few weeks around town, the Tesla Y with FSD 14+ is incredible.
Someone said it recently: it’s like going from black and white to color TV.
And when you drive a regular car again, even if it’s a “better” car, you still feel dumb having to drive yourself.
