Ear cropping is cruel. It is illegal and it is happening here. Not imports. Not rescues. Here, in the UK.

The @DefraGovUK Minister @StephenMorganMP has announced new plans to end carbon dioxide stunning of pigs to prevent suffering. ‘High concentration carbon dioxide is widely used to stun pigs in British slaughterhouses, but independent evidence has highlighted serious concerns about the suffering it causes animals. The government has now put forward proposals to replace the practice with more humane alternatives, such as argon gas and automated electrical stunning. Both methods are proven to substantially reduce animal suffering’

Halloween artificial cobweb material:
It may be a bit of fake fun for you, but it's a very real and terrifying death for them.
And it's not only birds.
Last year I had my first call of the season of a hedgehog trapped in this horrific fake 'cobweb', made especially for gullible halloweeners to spread over their greenery, trapping all unsuspecting birds, insects and mammals, including hedgehogs.
The fine synthetic fibers are difficult for animals to see and can quickly wrap around their legs, spines, and neck, leading to severe injuries.
When a hedgehog struggles to free herself the web tightens, cutting off circulation and causing deep wounds.
These constriction injuries often lead to permanent damage or death.
Unfortunately the call was from Manchester, so all I could do was talk them through getting the poor creature to a rescue.
Clearly she had been trapped there for at least one night, and her struggles had pulled the strong nylon strands so tightly that one of her toes had been amputated.
Can you imagine the pain and the sheer terror?
And then seeing dawn approach, while hanging there, tightly bound and helpless.
Aside from being stressed, dehydrated, starving and exhausted to the point of near death, she also had horrific bite/peck wounds to her face, where she had been held there, helpless, unable to curl and defend herself, while a predator tried to eat her alive.
If you have used this deadly cruel trap to 'decorate' your garden, please take it down now.
Please don't be conned by the greedy makers and sellers of this rubbish into hurting defenceless animals.

The Netherlands have banned consumer fireworks to the public citing pets as one of the major reasons why . From now on only licensed shows are permitted. 🇳🇱

So utterly depressing, hedgehogs are hurtling towards extinction on OUR watch, and only a few wildlife lovers care... paved gardens, plastic 'lawns', chopped down trees & hedges.. having a lifeless, no effort to manage, outdoor space is all that matters to the lazy & selfish..😒

Having fun and bringing the happy are the most important! Congratulations on your 98, Chesnyy, and congratulations to Kenji for a pawsome weekend! 🐾🐾🩷

The weekend of Rally Obedience Trials is over. I did better today. I even scored a 98 in my one round.
The real superstar this weekend was my baby brother, Kenji the Mooseweiler. He did well in the rally ring scoring in the 90s every round. But the really impressive part was his overall behavior. He didn't bark at anything. Even when he was getting barked at. He was attentive, listened, had manners. He had so much fun simply being there. That's kind of his vibe though. Doesn't matter where he goes, he brings the happy with him to share.
There's one more show this fall for us to go, then we'll be ready for a full season next year! Maybe we can take the number one and two rottie spots!

In October 2015, Erich arrived at BEAR SANCTUARY Arbesbach and started a brand-new chapter. After being rescued from a former park in Austria, he finally got the space and care he deserved. 💚🐻
Now 16 years old, Erich is living his best life swimming and snacking!

Admin Post:
I am so freaking happy with Kenji this weekend. Novice trials are courses made of basic manuevers. Dogs are on leash at this level but it's used more as a safety tether. Points are deducted every time the leash goes tight so I keep it very loose and ask for direction changes and speed changes verbally or with a gesture. Considering there was a group of dogs in the ring beside us, he did awesome.
He has another challenge the other dogs don't. Whenever he has to pass behind my back, I can't reach to pass it to my other hand. I usually drop it and grab it when he comes around to the heel position but today I asked him to pick it up and give it to me. And he did! It would have been great had he not stopped to sniff on the way around, but many of the dogs did. What's important is that he actually came around back into the heel position and didn't just wander off.
There were a lot of distractions today and a larger crowd. He handled everything so well. He was barked at, stared at, sniffed, had kids waving toys nearby. And he just happily took it all in. I'm super proud of this pup this weekend. Today's the last day of this show and I'm excited to see how he does.
