Well…that is one way to increase your time of possession advantage…way to go Beavs…just give them a touchdown so you get the ball back

I've never seen a league prepare everyone for losing more than the SEC this year. The Big Ten has played 9 since 2017. The Big 12 since 2011. The PAC 12 did it and was the reason they got screwed every year in the CFP era. There is no doubt a 9-3 team will get in but the nonstop whining about it is ridiculous
NEW: Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian says the SEC is cannibalizing itself with a nine-game conference schedule👀 "Any way you slice it, it’s eight more losses. So if you are fortunate enough to be part of that discussion from the committee, how much is the committee going to value one more conference game in the SEC, right?" He added: "To some degree we put the cart before the horse." (h/t @InsideTexas) on3.com/news/steve-sarkisian…

Jamarcus Shephard’s amazing thoughts on the 24-team College Football Playoff. “I hope the NCAA actually does care about student athletes, ALL student athletes, not just the ones in the SEC and the Big Ten.” He emphasizes accessibility to all teams in the FBS, and suggests all conference champions being able to be in that playoff, similar to the NCAA Basketball Tournament. “Well, this kid, he puts on his pads just like this kid in this other conference. He has to come in and work under the same rules, stipulations…within the NCAA’s bylaws that the kid at another conference has to.”

Just a little reminder from Salty! NAIA has great women’s wrestling!!
Guilford, Nwachukwu have medaled. Rodriguez-Dobler, Wiesel and Kolawale will wrestle for Bronze. All of them wrestled at least part of their careers at NAIA schools.

Remember when the Pac12 played 9 conference games and everyone from elsewhere said oh look the Pac12 isn’t good This is exactly what the Pac12 coachs and fans saw and said Also don’t forget in the same Pac12 isn’t good they then went and played for NC and ranked 1 the next year
Lane Kiffin continues to make a strong case against the SEC's move to nine conference games. More losses, more beat-up teams and less roster depth in the transfer portal era. His biggest point? SEC teams are being punished in the rankings for playing tougher schedules. Hard to argue with him on this one.

My favorite part was they wanted PI…but contact was initiated by the offense…first grab was by the offense and continued to grab the defenders arm all the way till the ball got there…that is not defensive pass interference
I have never heard an announcing team bitch a penalty wasn’t called after a game ended quite like that. They even brought in their rules expert in. After the game. Shut. The. Hell. Up. BYU won. Talk about that. They’ve now circled back to discuss it again. STFU!

Maybe in the NIL world…there just aren’t any elite teams because players no longer developed the same…playing for money instead of for each other… Don’t say the SEC is so good…they chose to make that argument irrelevant themselves years ago with everyone else

Whether you support a 24-team playoff or not, isn’t it disconcerting a TV network, ESPN, is determining how a sport crowns its champion? Not a governing body? I do understand the AP poll (not an actual game) used to decide it, so maybe the sport has always been broken.

Which is why conference championships matter…and every conference championship should get in…don’t like it LSU…go join the sun belt
"There's not 24 teams in the country that deserve to be in the playoffs ... I don't think there's 24 teams in the country that can win the championship." Nick Saban reiterated his concerns about a potential expansion to a 24-team College Football Playoff in 2027.

12…they have to lose 12 each… 1-11 and they get in because they have the most 5* players…and because they “could win” because they started the year as preseason #1
How many games would Alabama, Ohio State, Texas, Georgia, Notre Dame have to lose to NOT make the 24 team playoff?

Then why have conferences? And especially why have conferences with 18 teams? This is the dumbest thing ever…don’t worry folks…college football will be dead soon…lack of leadership and worse…lack of smart people in leadership
The 24-team College Football Playoff likely eliminates conference championships, @PeteNakos reports❌ on3.com/news/how-would-expan…

That is stupid… 2 feet and a knee before contact by the defender..: Then ground causes it to come loose… Football continues to make itself unwatchable…that was 1,000,000x a catch…but because B1G officials continue to have no clue and because college football trying to die

The G6 should push hard for Jason Eck’s proposal to at least have 3 autobids for the G6, awarded by play-in games for regular season champs. The ~3-5 loss #22/#23 P4 teams missing out is a tiny price to pay for meaningful playoff access to the entire subdivision.
Play 3 play-in games involving the champions of the Group of 6 leagues the weekend of Army-Navy. Allow winner of Army-Navy to jump lowest ranked winner if their resume is better.

This logic assumes the committee will rank teams the same way with a 24-team field as it does with the 12-team field. And I'm betting that won't be the case. It will *always* tilt to the SEC and Big Ten, whether it's 12, 24 or 48 teams
Replying to @wilnerhotline
Had it been implemented last year the Big 12 would’ve had five teams in the field. It’s not 24/7 doom and gloom.
