It was the 95th min, 2-2, high adrenaline and he got it completely wrong. He’s not the first person to do something idiotic at that stage.
I’m by no means trying to justify what he did, simply that there was no ill intent.
You can see he immediately realises what he’s done, looks over at Jesus de Miguel to see if he’s okay (before he passed out), before walking off in shame knowing he messed up (the ref hasn’t even shown him the red card yet).
Then when he realises it’s not okay with him he turns around and immediately runs over.
He’s by no means a saint, but he’s also not a sadistic psychopath like I’m seeing some try to argue.

Our tools already help verify whether an image or audio file was created with our models. This work builds on those efforts to help people better understand when content may have been generated or edited with an OpenAI model.
In the EU, we’ll start watermarking eligible text from ChatGPT and Codex over the coming weeks to comply with the EU AI Act.
