Neither. Legionnaires’ is not spread person-to-person, so a mask changes nothing around infected people. Risk comes from environmental water aerosols (cooling towers etc.). Everyday cloth or surgical masks provide no meaningful protection against them and do not increase risk. Proper N95/P95 respirators can help only in high-aerosol work settings.
