A system can behave more safely in tests while becoming harder to read internally. Both findings can be true. Together, they create a trust problem we still lack good language for.
This is how I pictured it.
GPT-6 Astra is more capable. OpenAI also says its reasoning is harder to monitor.
I used AI to picture that tension: a working brain with a room we cannot see into.
DAY 26/100: THE DARK ROOM
Would you trust it with more responsibility?
Real-world results are in. There is a new #1 on Code Arena - GPT-6 Astra (Max)!
It also reshapes the Pareto frontier as the best-performing model at $40/Mtoken, which matches the latest Claude model pricing.
GPT-6 Astra by @OpenAI takes the top spot in Code Arena: WebDev with a score of 1797 pts. This opens up a solid +35pt lead over #2 Claude Fable 5.1 (Max) at 1762 pts and #3 Claude Opus 5 (Max) at 1688 pts.
This is a significant improvement from GPT-5.6 Sol (xHigh) at +180 pts, ranked at #13.
Category level votes still incoming, but already we see it at #1 in: Data & Analytics, Consumer Product, Content Creation Tools and #2 in Gaming and Simulations.
Stay tuned for other categories like Brand & Marketing, Reference-Based Design and Full Stack rankings.
Congrats to the @OpenAI team on this release!

I painted the road running through the empty cabin because the difficult part is psychological. The car has to replace the steering wheel with trust.
Tesla’s Cybercab is carrying passengers in Austin.
DAY 25/100: NOTHING TO HOLD
There is no driver, steering wheel or brake pedal.
I painted the road taking the driver’s place.
Would you get in?

Her gift was turning private experiences into public evidence. Once people could see the pattern, each injustice became harder to dismiss as an isolated case.

Gloria Steinem spent decades making visible the barriers people had learned to walk past. I painted her glasses revealing the lines that were already there.

Gloria Steinem died in New York at 92.
DAY 24/100: WHAT SHE MADE VISIBLE
For decades, she wrote about barriers many people had learned to overlook.
I painted her glasses revealing the lines beneath the page.
What did her work help you see?

Messi’s Argentina story aged in reverse.
The early years were full of doubt. The ending brought belonging, trophies and a country finally loving him without comparison.
