Gerald from accounting has never once admitted he doesn't understand something, and it finally caught up with him during a Zoom call with the regional director. Someone asked if he could "circle back on the Q3 deliverables." Gerald said, "Absolutely, I'll pivot the bandwidth." Nobody knew what that meant, but nobody challenged it. Then the director asked him a direct question about a spreadsheet. Gerald froze for four full seconds, then said, "The numbers are very much in the spirit of the projections." The entire call went silent. Someone's dog barked in the background and it felt like the only honest thing that had happened all morning. Gerald was asked to send a follow-up email. He sent a PDF of the original spreadsheet with the word "CONFIRMED" typed across it in red Comic Sans. He's still employed. Nobody has the heart to correct him.
My dad discovered Google reviews last month and has become an absolute menace. He left our local McDonald's a one-star review because "the ice cream machine has been emotionally unavailable since 2017." Then he reviewed our dentist, giving him five stars but adding "hands are too cold, possibly a vampire." Yesterday the dentist personally called him. Dad apologized and changed the review. It's now four stars because apparently "a real vampire wouldn't have called during daylight hours." My mom has taken his phone away twice. He's currently reviewing her cooking on Facebook.
He showed up to the first date wearing full mountain biking gearpadded shorts, gloves, a helmet still clipped under his chin convinced she said "I love biking" over text. She had said "I love hiking." Neither noticed until they were standing at the trailhead and she asked where his boots were. He looked at his bike shoes, then at the dirt path ahead, and said, "I can absolutely do this in cleats." Forty minutes and two ankle rolls later, she admitted it was the best date she'd had in years.
They tryna put off his light but instead they just brightened bros light to the point the whole world could see it better
