Interesting first week. The Glyndebourne Festival receives no public funding. Today's Arts Council cut is to the grant for our tour and education work. We will consider the implications very carefully. Meanwhile, my heart goes out to those facing far more challenging news.

Boris Johnson is, by some distance, the worst thing ever to happen to British politics. A serial liar, a proven cheat, an enemy of common decency. If he has finally buckled under the weight of his own depravity, none of his supporters should be allowed to forget their complicity.

Do you think Johnson statement tells the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth? If so press LIKE. If on the other hand you think it is the deluded self-serving bullshit of a disgraced lying lawbreaker press RETWEET

Following the very sad news of the death of Her Majesty The Queen, as a mark of respect we will not be going ahead with Prom 71 on Friday 9 September, or the Last Night of the Proms on Saturday 10 September.

This is one of my favourite pieces we've ever run - the brilliant Joe Cornish on Britten. bhttps://www.theguardian.com/music/2022/mar/17/joe-cornish-peter-grimes-benjamin-britten-opera-addict

Didn’t think I could love an album as much as @alex_neilson ‘s Otterburn , but Paradise already running it close. Stunning new record from brilliantly funny and original musician.

Congratulations @JoeBiden and @KamalaHarris on your well-deserved win. London looks forward to working with you — it's time to get back to building bridges, not walls. 🇺🇸 🇬🇧

How about this Thursday we do a minute’s boo at 7.55? Then grab a drink, and at 8pm do one final massive clap for carers?

Yeah, you see. That's really very good indeed. On point, short, effective and deadly.
There cannot be one rule for Dominic Cummings and another for the British people.
